"Beautiful and charming hotel! Unfortunately the restaurant was only serving breakfast and not dinner, since we arrived off- season. However the restaurant was freezing due to the heating system not working so we had to go elsewhere in town for breakfast. Too bad because it was a lovely room with a harbor view. Our biggest disappointment by far was the coffee in the room and in the lobby. Nasty stuff! I have never tasted coffee this bad in any hotel (and we have been to many). First of all at this high- end price point per night, Faraway should be providing at least a Nespresso machine in each room for a decent morning cup of coffee instead of instant coffee packets which went out with Sanka like forty years ago. :( Then we thought that maybe the coffee urns on the bar in the common area would at least provide a half decent cup of coffee. Boy were we wrong! The fact that other filled cups of coffee which were left on the bar still full told us that other guests felt the same about the quality of coffee. Thank goodness for Goldbergs Bagel shop in town! Come on guys. If you want to be recognized as a high end getaway in an extremely wealthy part of Long Island, please find yourselves a better quality coffee source. Its not that hard these days. We speak for all true coffee lovers."

"We really loved our stay as a three generation family! The home was clean, beautiful and really well-appointed for cooking and relaxing. There are three bedrooms, and the primary bedroom also had a set aside area with a curtain, which was a perfect place for our one year old to sleep. Our host was proactive in sending over helpful information and responded quickly to an inquiry. And, in my opinion the photos don't do the house justice in how beautiful and relaxing the space is. Bonus of the pool house which became our two older children's secret play room."

Jill is giving us that chance, and it was the best stay I've ever had.The magnificent log home is every bit as stunning in person as it was in the magazine, where it appeared on the cover. But what the photos can't convey is how comfortable it is. Every room is beautifully designed, yet nothing feels precious or off-limits. You settle in immediately.The home combines impressive scale with real warmth: soaring timbers, beautiful stonework, generous rooms, and distinctive furnishings. Surrounded by acres of natural beauty, it feels like a secluded Western ranch, yet it's conveniently located for everything the Hamptons offers. Mornings taking in the grounds, afternoons by the heated pool, and evenings relaxing together in the house made the entire stay feel special.Most of all, there is an atmosphere here that photographs cannot fully capture - serene, private, and completely unique. It is the perfect retreat for anyone who values peace, natural beauty, and an unforgettable sense of place.Jill was a gracious, responsive host from the first message to checkout.
