The Moorings Hotel Stay July 2025

This is our second time staying here and cannot recommend it highly enough, it is super close to Beamish which is why we stayed. Rooms are lovely and clean, food is amazing big portions, the staff are super helpful and very friendly. Lovely seated area to the rear to enjoy drinks, Good parking also to rear of property. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely spacious room which included a small sofa, so it was comfortable to return to in the evening and watch tv. The downside was the room was at the top of the building up two flights of stairs, so not good for people with limited mobility or heavy bags. The ensuite was very small but the shower was powerful and the towels of good quality. Just a 10 minute walk to centre of Harrogate and restaurants.

Although I was the only resident at the hotel that night I was well catered for. I was disappointed the restaurant was closed but it must have been a quiet night. My breakfast was prepared and left for me and entry instructions to the hotel.

Moorelands hotel and restaurant

Booked on the spur of the moment. Excellent price. Fabulous clean room. Large bathroom with corner bath and powerful shower. Lots of hot water, clean white fluffy towels. We upgraded to King size bed, patio doors to outside decked veranda. Fabulous in the warm weather. Next door to the pub and restaurant. Excellent food, good menu both evening meal and breakfast. Couples only at the moment. Well worth it. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed for two nights and hadn't realised the accommodation next to the pub had only recently reopened. There were a few very minor things which needed attention, but were fixed promptly by the staff. The room benefitted from a "two person" bath, which was great for soaking our travel pains away with a glass of wine. From there, we visited the excellent Beamish Museum, a marvellous working museum which needs at least two days to see. Meals were really good with very generously priced breakfasts and attentive service.

Handy countryside hotel

Well situated for visiting Beamish, Durham, Newcastle or the county cricket ground- good sized clean room - there is a good bar and restaurant on the first floor

Moorings Hotel visit.

The stay overall was very good, the hotel and room were clean and the bonus of having the Italian bistro next door was brilliant.( good food and caring chef ) In respect of the team on duty, everyone was very friendly and attentive making the stay very enjoyable and would have no hesitation staying next time i am up in the north, a big thanks to everyone.

A good location for celebrations and weekends.

The Moorings changed hands six months before our visit. Interestingly it is now more of an Italian Restaurant with an accomodation block. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only down point is breakfast is basic and isn't served until 9.00am.

GNR stay over

Arrived early and room was already available, staff were really helpful offering to help with bags etc. restaurant food was really good, and staff very friendly. I called in the week asking if I could get an early breakfast as I was running GNR , they couldn’t open early but went out and bought me the breakfast items I’d mentioned specially. Needs a little updating but everything was clean tidy and professional and very friendly.

Lovely stay and clean and comfortable room at a very good price Just lacking in hosting When given the key we were shown to our room but no other information passed on or anything in the room we had to ask what time and where breakfast would be served Also when we went to breakfast ourselves and 4 other tables were sat in the restaurant waiting for 25 minutes before seeing or being acknowledged by a member of staff and being shown where the coffee was it was a shame as the cooked breakfast was delicious and lovely accommodation as I say just lacking in a host to welcome you

Tried to over charge us when arrived, price of evening meal wrong, over charged by twice tge amount, no one available to serve breakfast we had to phone someone when they did get here they told us breakfast would be another £8 infact it was inclusive in the room price, could go on the list is endless I'd just like to say I would never go back and definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Yes the room was clean and the staff very pleasant. However, when I returned to the hotel after 5.30pm on the Sunday evening there was no one there and the heating was turned off. Luckily I had some blankets in my van that I could put on my bed as evening and night were extremely cold.
