"We stayed here for a couple of nights on a short tour of the Jurassic Coast. The location is spectacular and you can almost step out onto the beach. There is a lovely bay window which you can sit in and watch the world go by listening to the sound of the waves. If only this had been a nice padded seat, I might not have wanted to leave. "Lovely comfortable flat with lovely seaside decor. Amazing view of the sea. Close to everything you need. Parking is tight but they do warn you of this, so it wasn’t a surprise. There is some noise from the road as there are traffic lights outside the bedroom window and it’s near the theatre so some noise from there. But it did not affect our long weekend break and we had a wonderful time and would go back."

"Breakfast was subpar at best. Upgraded room , however could not even provide a luggage rack. Bed was comfortable and hotel location great. We never saw a human during three day visit. Loved the town and dining was great in the area. Warning, we had to carry our luggage up three flights. Little tough after flight from US."

"The Royal Lion Hotel is a nice place to stay. It is in a very good position to explore Lyme Regis from. The staff are very nice and helpful and friendly. The food was good for me as I have some food intolerances and I could always find something tasty to eat. I hope they light the fires in the bar soon as it is getting chilly and a fire is so comforting. We had a very nice room with access to a garden and seating. Our bed was very comfortable and we slept well. A lovely shower with plenty of hot water as well. I also like the traditional rooms on the upper floors as they are more in keeping with the age of the building. I hope the Royal Lion is not modernised too much. We want to stay there because of the Tradition of the building, the décor including furniture and the comfort. Please don't modernise too much. We will be back."

"Cute little home that is well loved and maintained. We loved the little gatd for coffee in the morning. The host was very communicative. It was hot and we had windows open so it was loud outside as the property is right on the street. Loved the beach cottage! Notice though that the "shower" is a actually a tub under a slanted roof with a hand sprayer. My 6'5" husband had a very difficult time with the set up. But there really isn't any sort of option with the size and layout of the bathroom for anything else."

Had fab stay only negative is the bed was quite uncomfortable & noisy when you moved also bedding was very warm and sweaty as think cotton sheets are better & pillows uncomfortable for husband. All said it is very high quality standard with everything you need for short break."
