The house is unique & beautiful. The hosts are friendly & helpful. Breakfasts were wonderful in a lovely room flooded with sunshine overlooking the bay. Such a nice visit!
Does not look much from the outside but inside very clean and comfortable. We had a great nights sleep following a friends birthday party in the function suite. Great breakfast at the The Hardgate Cafe across the road.
I was staying to be close to the hospital while my husband had an operation. The hotel was clean well decorated and furnished. The security was excellent and for my first solo stay i felt very safe and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful
I had booked the Hotel for just one night stay, on arrival I was briefly shown around & I thought the decor throughout was excellent, very well maintained with a classic but modern touch, the room itself was perfect with king size bed T.V and all I required for an evening stay as well the room also had a large on-suite bathroom.
Overall / Perfect & good value for money.
Yes to both. Room very clean. Staff friendly. We have two concerns. The main one was that the lift wasn't working and none of the rooms were on the ground, or first, floor. We weren't warned of this beforehand. There were also steps outside down to get to the hotel part and up to get to the restaurant part. Also, we found the room very very hot overnight and couldn't do anything about it. Otherwise fine.

Basic
Very basic, no clear signage to reception (just a little room with a blind over the window, no restaurant on site (not detailed in listing), no bath towel in the room. Not what was expected based on the listing. Very clean though on the positive side.
Nice place. Hallways and surrounding areas were kinda run down. But don’t be deceived because the room itself was great! Room was clean and organized, bathroom was nice and clean! And some cool little things in the room like a mirror with a Bluetooth speaker built in (nice for jamming out in the shower lol) and a really cool lamp that turns on/off with just a touch! It’s also nice that there’s a Tesco right across the street, super convenient! Just kinda wish outside the room was better kept, but hey, I’m not sleeping the hallways right! Also there is no elevator; not an issue for me as I like walking, but something to consider if you don’t like stairs. Overall, good stay and would recommend!

This was a difficult place to review because the good things were good. But the experience was so overshadowed by the bad that I cannot recommend it. The good: the staff was friendly. The room and bathroom were updated well. The bed was comfortable. The bad: the pillows were very hard and flat, the pullout bed was poor quality, you can tell the updates painted over badly water damaged walls, the lift was broken (all rooms are more than 2 flights up). Our negative experience was capped by the following: The hotel reached out several times over the week to make sure they had all our info, credit card etc. Wheen we checked in at 930, the door by the sign for the hotel is propped open and music is blasting out of it. People at the door stated "this is a private party, you'll have to go someplace else to check in". So we walk along back and find an off duty employee who was outside smoking and they were nice enough to take us to the front desk through the employee access. They pulled us into the office to check us in because the music was so loud they couldn't hear anything and then gave us "free ear plugs" because they knew the music was going to be loud but "should be done by 1230a". Earplugs only work for sleep if you don't have to get up to an alarm the next morning. You could hear the words of the music, let alone the bass in the room. It was impressively bad. It was not right to rent out the space for an event and rent out rooms to others. It was unethical.

Parking was a shambles. Had to just dump my car.
Staff were friendly but no reception area so have to just walk around aimlessly until you find somebody
No curtains on the windows, just a blind so as soon as it’s light, expect to be awake. The room I had faced the car park and enterprise building which had flood lights all night so the room was lit up! Hardly any sleep.
No hairdryer or iron facilities in the room! Very basic
Area really let this place down. Not much in the way of amenities. And really could do with some curtains to block out the night time lights from outside.
The hotel was clean, very hard to find, no one told us about the stairs, NO LIFT, could have been a big problem, only stayed one night, would not have stayed longer, stairs were a big problem.

Car park dark - was unsure how safe the car would be
Room was cold - no heating. Had to request heating to be turned on.
Function on first night - offered masks and ear plugs and then after check out discovered we had been charged £14 per person for these - rip off
Had to carry bags up three flights of stairs as no lift. No hairdryer in room.
