Was very happy with our stay. Joyce had great communication and provided multiple recommendations about what to do in the area. There was also a nice binder with a bunch of info as well. Property was very clean and we enjoyed sitting on the couch watching the fire. Would recommend this property to others.
We enjoyed the beautiful cabin with beautiful views. Joyce was so helpful with recommendations to restaurants , attractions and fishing spot with beautiful views.
The cabin was beautiful, exactly as the pictures showed, stunning surroundings and really thoughtfully equipped with games and books. Everything was well organized and very clean. Joyce was a wonderful host and called me before we got there and shared plenty of information about the area, the drive and the cabin. We had such a lovely time away from everything and would definitely come back and stay again!
This house is so comfortable and well maintained. It has everything needed for an enjoyable stay and is certainly one of the nicest and well equipped homes we've stayed at. The location is very peaceful and was perfect for our family to spend time together.
This is a great cabin! Cozy and inviting decor inside. Seclusion, privacy, peace and quiet outside. What else could you ask for! Will definitely stay again!
Amazing cabin out away from the city. It’s amazing and so quiet and it has an awesome view of the valley and mountains. I hope to stay there again. It has a full sized kitchen really well stocked with what’s needed to cook with and it has a bbq grill and an outdoor fire pit.
We had a wonderful stay at this secluded mountain cabin. The location is peaceful and private—perfect for unplugging and relaxing. The home itself is very well kept and clearly well maintained, with everything feeling clean, modern, and cared for.One of the best surprises was how many games/activities were available. Between that and the scenic views right outside, there was always something to do whether indoors or out. The quiet surroundings and mountain setting made for a truly restful getaway. We also really appreciated that the cabin was pet-friendly—it made the trip even more enjoyable to have our dog along with us.Overall, it’s a fantastic retreat if you’re looking for comfort, seclusion, and a chance to enjoy the outdoors. Highly recommended—we’d gladly return.
A wonderful place for the perfect getaway from city life. The home had everything one could imagine, and the property and surroundings were super-quiet and peaceful. We will go back next year!
This cabin is perfect. Everything you could need or want. The porch was fantastic with great views. Plenty of games in the basement. We would love to come back again
I booked this cabin so that my wife and MIL had a good place to hang out with our dogs while I ran a trail race in Como. We couldn't have been happier with the cabin and the location. It has a very secluded feel, while being pretty centrally located between towns and trailheads. It was a great place to recover and hangout after my race as well. We would definitely rent it again!
It is a perfect place great view, from the beginning the communication with Chris and Joyce was really good. The cabin has everything you need, if you’re not an outside activity person, the place has a lot of things for you to have fun. It was a perfect place for us to start the new year with our batteries recharged. We loved it definitely coming back.
We enjoyed this lovely secluded cabin. The house had everything (& more) we needed. Clean and comfortable. Great view from the front deck. We used it as home base to go rafting in Canyon City, visit friends in Colorado Springs, and hike Mt Elbert. A bit of driving, but we are happy with our decision.
Our family of 4 had a great time on our recent vacation! Property was great with comfortable amenities and our kids loved having the sleds to use during the snow! The property is not close to much in terms of towns with restaurants or food options. If that is what you desire, this may not be the place for you. But the house was centrally located about 1.5 hours from lots of destinations. Breckenridge, Colorado Springs, Denver, and other areas. Would definitely come back!
We LOVED this property! We brought our 2 dogs, and it was so awesome for them. Our kids went right out the door and could sled down the hill, and there's a dog run for the dogs. Everything was so nice and cozy, and decorated for Christmas. Tons of games to play, great kitchen, and so comfortable. We loved it and appreciate the little things they provided, like dog bowls and sleds. Such a great, thoughtful place!
This lovely cabin truly was haven in the woods (or snowstorm) for our family. Property is beautiful, clean, kitchen/restrooms well stocked, plenty blankets etc. We kept cozy and entertained during our stay. Kids 15, 14 & 10 hung out in "gameroom" often and watched several dvd movies. So grateful for your attentiveness and extended efforts to accommodate us Joyce, Chris & Dan!
We arrived at the cabin around 1pm and we usually load the SUV then head out to hike nearby trails. But when we saw how very nice this cabin was we decided just to hang around the cabin. We did walk around the "neighborhood"
then just settled into the cabin and watched the birds. Then had dinner on the deck and watched the moon come up.
The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed and much more. It was very clean, and has a real homey feel.
Thank you Joyce and Chris for sharing your cabin with us.
The property was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful, the cabin was cozy and relaxing. The owner called and made sure the check in process was explained and made sure we didn’t have any questions and was very nice! We had Thanksgiving with our family and everyone was relaxed and we had amazing views. The kids had plenty to do with the games on the property as well as exploring the woods and sledding. The location and owners are very welcoming with pets. Overall the location and the cabin were beyond amazing and we were extremely happy and didn’t want to leave! We will definitely be back for another vacation!
An absolutely beautiful home with even more beautiful views! Joyce was a pleasure to work with. She called before we arrived to give us information about the home and wildlife updates. Her knowledge of the area was very helpful and her "fall foilage" viewing tips were priceless! Sunrises by the fire pit were amazing. Stargazing was breathtaking! (Can't see the Milky Way from my deck in Kansas.) Cooking in this well appointed kitchen seemed less if a chore. Enjoyed evenings by the fireplace in the cozy family room. Our bichon/yorkie mix enjoyed the dog run and adventuring up to the top of the hill. Haven in the Woods is a secluded cabin comfortably cozy and warm. Hated to leave, but can't wait to return. Thanks again, Joyce, for sharing your wonderful home with us.
Me, my wife, and out 2 dogs stayed here for 4 days. I pulled my Jeep on my car trailer so we could enjoy going on offroad trails while we were there. I'll start by saying this is the first time on one of my stays that the owner called me prior to my stay to ask if I had any questions. This was a pleasant surprise and Joyce was so sweet and a joy to talk to. When we arrived there was plenty of room for my truck and trailer and to unload the Jeep. The property was beautiful and the cabin was the same with plenty of supplies for our visit. The dog run outside was a definite plus for our dogs. I never had any issues, but did have a couple questions and Joyce was quick to respond. A couple things to point out so people are aware which can be a positive to some and a negative to some are you have to drive on about 15 miles of dirt road to get to this cabin and some of them have quite a few washboards and holes on them, but at the same time that means this is a very remote and quiet cabin. I was sitting on the deck one morning and a bird flew over me and I could literally here it's wings flapping. The other point is you are about 45 minutes from the nearest town. For us and our Jeep trails we had to drive at least 45 minutes every day to get to at least a "Moderate" rated trail.
