Ok but dirty

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Starting out positive.... Great location and very roomy.... It was never cleaned before we showed up the toilet, had black mold ring around the water. There was sand in all the bathtubs there was popcorn left all over the porch..... The bathroom ceiling on the main floor was falling in and one of the twin beds and the bedroom downstairs box spring was all broke. we had problems with the washer and dryer, but they did send a maintenance man out to fix it

Family Vacation

The location of the property was great and it had plenty of room to accomodate our extended family! Our kids loved the loft area and it gave them some space away from the grown ups!

Clean, Excellent Location, Great Home for a Fantastic Vacation!

Location was everything. We easily hopped back and forth to the beach and home several times a day because it was so close. Home had a cozy cabin feel and everything was clean and we had all we needed to cook for our large family. We will definitely look into coming back again!

A rough start of our vacation

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Probably not rent this unit again not enough kitchen supplies who has a rental with no pot holders the ac went out it took 2 days to get enough window units I will give a shout out to our maintenance guy he was very helpful. The stairs going up to the front need replaced when people go up and down I shakes the house that said the whole house shakes when walking you can really feel it when you a in bed you just feel it worse when you go up and down. You have 3 bathrooms but not enough hot water to use them all it needs another hot water tank also found the water line bent in the utility room not sure why but I am guessing to save on water for the owner. ( I will help other people renting from Carolina shores I wasn't told to pick up my keys and paperwork at the office before I went all the times I have rented if there wasn't a keypad the door was open and my packet was at the house but I wasn't told anything so I assumed it was there so 20 minutes to the office and 20 minutes back was the start of my vacation after a 12hr drive with 5 kids..)

The house was superficially clean but could definitely use a deep clean and some updating. We did have an issue that the AC broke overnight and it was over 80 degrees in the house in the AM. However the rental company quickly coordinated with an HVAC company that had it fixed by the afternoon.

Location, location, location!

Loved the location of this house! Loved Corolla! Great vacation spent with college friends and our subsequent families. We have children ranging in age from 9 through 1 year old and this was an easy walk for everyone to the beach, 1 house back, located on a corner-de-sac.

Location Location Location

The FantaSea was the perfect vacation week for our family group of college grads and 50-year-olds. The very reasonable price was key, and the location, as mentioned in many other reviews, was absolutely perfect. As close to oceanfront as you can get without paying an extra grand. Such an easy walk, and the beach is perfect - never too crowded. The house itself made us feel like we stepped back to the Outer Banks of the 1980's, with the wood walls and This End Up furniture combining with the amazing VHS movie library sealing the deal. If you're looking for a modern house, this is not the one. (But FYI the wifi was solid and fast!) We really enjoyed it - it was mostly very clean, and while it's not overly spacious, it very adequately allowed us room for family meals, game nights (both at a table and around the sofas), and for our group of 6 to lounge and watch some TV. There's a great loft area that was wasted on our adult crew, but would be awesome for younger kids (not toddlers - very steep stairs) who want their own area to sneak away from all those grown-ups. Kinda small bedrooms, but that didn't matter. Big enough kitchen for 2 or 3 people to coexist - no problem. Washer & dryer in the utility room off the ground level parking area, which wasn't great. But again - for the price, no complaints. Bottom line - it wasn't luxury, and we loved it.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location was great! A couple issues with cleanliness. The shower curtain liners needed replacing, a bit of mildew. The door leading to the furnace/ac unit across from the upstairs bathroom was disgustingly dirty, like hadn’t been cleaned in months! The two vacuums were useless, one didn’t work and the other didn’t pick up anything. Some of the comforters were dirty. The rooms were bigger than they appear in the pictures which was nice. The location really can’t be beat for not being ocean front!

Amazing location!!

Located in a coldesac, the walk to the beach was so easy. The property is slightly outdated, but it was perfect for my family of 9. I highly recommend renting :)

Carolina Shores cancelled reservation Thurs afternoon, for check-in on Sat.

Received notification from Carolina Shores on Thurs afternoon that the property we rented for Saturday was unavailable. No other options were available to accommodate our group, as it was short notice. Just a "sorry, and your refund will be processed shortly". Refund was processed the following Wed, and then I received a call on the checkout date to be sure that we were out of the way of the cleaning crew. We didn't even stay there! No happy camper here.

Sewage problems

Found sewage backed up in the laundry room. They came out promptly and did a temporary fix. Took them 3 days to come out and sanitize the laundry room. Temporary fix was to pump the wast from the cottage out the side of the house. Found that on day 4 toilet paper and all. Smelled great. They did refund our stay had had us evaluated the cottage. They tried to help us relocate to different cottage but nothing was available with the same number of rooms. Had to pay extra to move to a different cottage fir 1/2 the stay.

LOCATION is the BEST part

Older home needs an update and some renovations. However the location makes up for all of that. A two minute walk to the beach is excellent with kids! Sleeps 12 and kitchen is decent size to cook. if looking for a no frills vacation this can't be beat!

Excellent location in Corolla

House has plenty room for everyone in our group. Three separate bathrooms make it very convenient for all of us to get ready. Beach access is superb, within a minute walking distance from the dunes. Central A/C was very efficient and quite a lifesaver, specially during the hot days of the week.
