Serene Rustic Retreat with Lake

Some places make you forget your to-do list. This is one of them.

Tucked deep in the woods of Cuddebackville, NY, this rustic retreat sits steps from a private lake where deer roam the yard, eagles soar overhead, and the only thing on your agenda is whatever feels right. No noise, no rush — just the kind of quiet you didn't realize you'd been craving.

Hike the Neversink Gorge trails to a hidden waterfall. Paddle the Delaware River. Lose yourself in the Bashakill Wildlife Management Area, one of New York's largest freshwater wetlands, home to over 200 bird species. Drive Hawk's Nest on Route 97 — a serpentine cliff road above the Delaware that stops conversation mid-sentence. In fall, the whole valley ignites with color. In spring, the wetlands come alive with eagles and warblers. Every season here earns its keep.

When hunger hits, Port Jervis is minutes away — grab a craft pour at Fox N Hare Brewing or scratch-made food at the beloved Fogwood & Fig. NYC visitors can skip the drive entirely: the NJ Transit Port Jervis Line runs direct to Hoboken.

3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, pets welcome. Come unplug.

🌿 The house and deck are entirely yours. Our housekeeper lives in a separate basement suite with their own entrance — no shared spaces, total privacy.
