"I called a few days ahead of our stay to let them
Know that my daughter was celebrating her 16th birthday on that day and if they could do anything special for this. They said they couldn’t as they only provide champagne for adults and they are very busy so won’t have time. I suggested maybe a small card and a few chocolates just as a welcome gesture. He sighed and seemed annoyed I had pushed the point.
When we arrived I noticed the carpets in bedrooms were very obviously stained and worn out....
"We stayed for 2 nights in the family room which had a lovely comfortable king size bed, ensuite with large walk in shower and air con which was a God send. Very clean and quiet. The staff are lovely, food and drinks reasonably priced, breakfast choices good. The beer garden needs some attention but is secure if you have children or a dog. Steep stairs to the rooms which were a bit difficult with our elderly dog but over all a great stay. Please note, although very dog friendly they do charge...
"All of the 3 rooms we booked had excellent facilities, everything we needed was there and more than we expected - from an extensive range of teas and other hot drink options to snacks and wine glasses.
The garden is fabulous and the views across the open countryside are extensive.
The owners were very friendly and helpful and we all slept very well in the extremely comfortable beds."
