Peaceful retreat in South Dakota

We had a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful surroundings and wildlife. The hosts are amazing and we had a great time visiting with them. Close enough to Custer State Park to drive in every day to see and enjoy the sites in the Black Hills area and come back for a relaxing evening.

First trip to the Dakotas!!

The stay was excellent, Carmen and her husband Jim are very welcoming. Cooper their dog was a sweetheart and visited almost every day at some point. The cabin had everything that we needed for our stay and we really enjoyed the outdoor country stay. I would highly recommend staying with them.

We had a wonderful stay at Bison Pines! Carmen and Jim are excellent hosts. The cabin was clean, the bed was comfortable and Carmen provided all amenities and then some! We definitely recommend Bison Pines if you are planning a trip to the area.

Absolutely Wonderful

Loved the location. Very peaceful and beautiful view. Cabin is exceptionally well stocked. Cooper was such a sweetie coming to visit for belly rubs and kisses. Enjoyed speaking with Carmen very personable and gave great suggestions for the area.

Great get-away

This was a great location for the buffalo round up at Custer State Park. The place was very clean and well kept with comfy beds. Carmen was a great hostess and made us feel comfortable and welcome. If you are looking for quiet, out of the way place this is for you.

The property provided an excellent home base for exploring the Black Hills. It is in a quiet rural setting. The cabin was very clean and had everthing we needed for a comfortable stay. We would highly recommend it.

Amazing cabin and hosts!

Everything about our trip was perfect!! The cabin was great for our family and the hosts were the best! There to greet us when we arrived and offered suggestions on where to go. The location is great, close enough to get to everything each day, but a little way away so you can enjoy the beauty of South Dakota and the landscape! We will stay again when we go back.

Wonderful

This is our second Fall staying at Bison Pines and it was wonderful. We spent some amazing days hiking in Custer and exploring Hot Springs. It was great to have a cozy place to come back to and relax. Carmen and Jim are superb hosts and we loved our morning and evening visits from Cooper.

Awesome place to stay

Carmen and Jim are super nice (Cooper too). Very helpful with ideas on things to do in the area. Great Communication before and during the trip. Place was extremely clean. They thought of everything. Bed are like sleeping on a cloud. Teen did not want to leave.

Little House on the Prairie

Quiet, relaxing, and beautiful views! Jim and Carmen were super hosts and they “nailed it” with all the touches to make us feel comfortable and at home. Their dog, Cooper, is an added bonus and quite the greeter. We enjoyed roaming the property and watching the wildlife. Trust me…do not look anywhere else if you’re even thinking about looking for another place in this area!

You won’t find a better place to stay. Carmen & Jim are great personable people. Just like being at home the cabin is more than fully furnished and comfortable. With a chance of hail Jim moved his tractor out from under cover so we could move our vehicle in. That’s how for thoughtful they are.

National Park Trip

Very Easy to check-in and the cabin is ready for early arrival, if needed. It was a pleasure to meet Jim and Carmen; they were exceptional hosts & always available, when needed. Cabin is in a great location. Easy access to Custer, Wind Cave NP, Custer State Park, Mt Rushmore, and Crazy Horse. Jim and Carmen have the cabin well stocked for all essentials you need. The area is amazing & it feels like home.

Quiet, peaceful cabin away from the crowds.

We enjoyed our 6 night stay. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed. It was great to have a full kitchen and grill to prepare dinner in the evening. Our 2 boys enjoyed the dish TV & wifi. Lisa & Doug were friendly and easy to work with. We enjoyed being greeted by Scout, the horses & the chickens. It was nice after sightseeing all day to return to quiet and relaxing cabin.
