This pet-friendly stay with a fenced in yard right next to a park was the most lovely stay. If you're considering it, book it. We loved almost all aspects of our stay.
This property exceeded expectations. It was exceptionally clean with an easy, hassle-free check-in process. The space felt roomy and cozy for two people, and the bed was especially comfy. It’s very pet-friendly, with a yard and an adjacent park that made it perfect for bringing pets along. The host went above and beyond by leaving dog treats to welcome our fur babies! The neighborhood was welcoming and safe, with lots of families and pets around. It’s also close to downtown and walkable to many local spots, which made getting around simple and enjoyable. The easy commute to WPAFB was a big plus as well. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything needed for everyday cooking, making it easy to settle in. Overall, it offers great value and a comfortable stay—I would definitely recommend this property.
Absolutely loved our stay in this property, was super close to everything we needed and the pictures really don’t do it justice, it’s a perfect little house. The house was fully equipped with anything we could have needed and the yard was a perfect suntrap for those morning coffees.
Exceptional value! Sparkling clean and very very spacious accommodations. Host was very responsive. The actual decor represents a lot of thought and care in updating this vintage space. Bedding is very very comfortable! I hope to come back again when I’m in the area.
Our host Jakob went above & beyond to be sure we enjoyed our stay! He was very quick to respond ,hence excellent communication! Very nice clean place in a safe neighborhood close to eatery's,gas etc. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area ,as we couldn't have asked for a better place or more welcoming host Jakob was absolutely awesome!!!
Beautiful decor, very clean, great location close to so many things! I was unsure as we were driving in about the neighborhood, but we were pleasantly surprised, other cute house around it and we felt so safe! It was very clean, but do be aware this home allows dogs and as someone pretty allergic, I definitely had a reaction. I had planned ahead and took my normal allergy pill and was totally fine!
This is one of my favorite places I've ever stayed. Can't recommend it enough! The decor is gorgeous and cozy (I was taking notes for my own home design) and the home had everything I needed and more. The host provided excellent communication throughout. The location is perfect; close to downtown, coffee shops in walking distance, and my dog loved the yard and walking around the neighborhood. Only downside is I saw less of my family because I didn't want to leave the house! When I come back to Dayton, I wouldn't stay anywhere else!!
Excellent place to stay while in town for a graduation at the Univ. of Dayton. The house is located in what I think is a neighborhood that's gentrifying. The pictures make it seem like it's a historical house -- in reality, it's a small old house that's ugly from the outside, but flipped inside. Not that there's anything wrong with that! Just sharing what it's really like. It's a small house, but fine for our family (2 adults, 2 young kids). The kitchen is stocked but only with the most basic things- just FYI in case you plan on cooking multiple meals. My kids loved playing at Blommel Park, which is 10 min walk away.My one complaint: I am not a picky traveler, but the pillows are awful!
I had a great stay at the Hickory House in Dayton's South Park neighborhood. This is a perfect rental for a couple, though I was solo this trip. It's an older home but fantastically restored inside with brand new kitchen and bathroom, so has elements of vintage charm with modern conveniences. Access was simple with keycode lock. No on-site parking but street parking right in front of house was pretty easy. Excellent location for those visiting their kids at Univ of Dayton. Walking distance to several fun spots.... for coffee try "Wholly Grounds" or "Gaslight Coffee". If you like beer, please visit "Branch and Bone" - it is great. South Park is one of those areas of Dayton that has been getting more popular over the last decade or so - there's still rehabbing going on in the neighborhood but I felt safe while I was there. I would absolutely stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay in this large, well-appointed space! The decor is fantastic, and it was generally quite clean (dishes were all ready to use and in good shape, sheets & towels were clean and odor-free, etc). The park next door was lovely (opening the view out the side as opposed to having another building right next door). The bed was softer than I like, and there were plug-in scent things along with scented trash bags but the odor wasn’t too bad.Would stay again!
