Had a good rapport w/ owner and his staff. Staff was excellent even when the owner was not around. Relatively new ownership that is steadily making improvements to the property. Easy access to the property and pleasant city and downtown business community.

Great Customer Service

We were greeted warmly by one of the owners and he gave an upgraded room which was very nice. The location was great for our needs. The rooms are outdated but comfortable. The breakfast that was included had very little to offer - cereal, Belgium waffles, a few bagels, there were only two yogurts in the refrigerator.

Service with a smile

I was arriving quite late & had a couple of special requests so I wouldn't have to do much walking. The manager was waiting for me & had reserved a room that was fairly close to the door, on the first floor, & had even reserved a parking spot for me right next to the door! He even greeted me & helped me bring in what I needed from the car! The room was very clean, breakfast was fine, & the price was fair.

I had high hopes. The motel had recently been taken over by new owners and they were proudly promoting some of the things they had replaced. The man who checked us in was very welcoming and spoke to us every time we ran into each other. The first night was decent, except the shower curtain was filthy with mildew. The rest of the room felt and smelled clean. The refrigerator did not work, but I was willing to consider they were still in the remodeling stage. However, when we returned to our room the next day (evening) we discovered we had no room service. I went to the desk to inquire and could not find anyone, even though I tried several times. When we woke up the next morning, we tried the front desk again at 6:30 a.m. No one was there and it was supposed to be open at 6:00 for breakfast. When they finally opened, we requested fresh towels and asked why we didn't get room service. They said they would not provide room service unless we specifically requested it. That would have been nice to know when we arrived. We will be returning to De Witt next May to see our granddaughter graduate, but I will gladly pay the extra for AmericInn.

Excellent stay!

This place was great! The owner cares very much about his hotel. The continental breakfast included waffles, yogurt, bagels, muffins and cereals. To drink milk and orange juice. For the price, this place was incredible! The towels were a little stiff, pillow a little flat, but I wasn’t expecting fancy top-notch conditions either.

Not so good, but cheap

The rooms smelled like cat/dog pee and very musty. We bought candles to clear the smell. Air freshener as well. We had no key to our room, the manager had to open our door.

Everything about the place is horrible and disgusting. My room smelt like mold and i was told it was the air freshener. I looked around and found black mold behind the carpet on the wall and on the shower curtain. My wife and i were in room for an hour and it made my wife have an allergic reaction. We refused to stay there with how much of a health hazard it was.

Hotel was ok. The person who checked us in was rude and my kids were being noisy after 11 i get ot but the way he talked to us to tell us to keep it down was uncalled for. He said "the kids need to go to bed or they go, you understand! " also when having breakfast the next day he just kept giving us a horrible look that we didnt even eat comfortable
