Great host. Excellent communication. Clean house with a fully stocked kitchen and bathroom. Nicely decorated, comfy bed, lots of space. The internet was good, and we appreciated being so close to the school. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. The only downside was that we like to watch tv in bed before we go to sleep and neither bedroom had a tv in it. Good tv in the living room.
The cottage was very cute and cozy. Kitchen had plenty of cookware, utensils etc. It was clean, beds were VERY comfortable!!! Mark was very helpful and pleasant to communicate with. I highly recommend staying here and will definitely be booking next time Im up there.
This was a great place to enjoy with a family or 2-3 couples!!
Yard is great for summer party's for birthdays, and anniversaries.
Host is incredible and very helpful!!
Great location. Central to most everything. It would have been nice to have known about the stairs. Cute little cottage with all the essentials. We enjoyed our stay.

Loved our stay! Older home but sweet '60-'70 vibe. Cottage was clean and had everything we needed. The wrap around patio could be a great place to hangout. It was just too hot while we were there. Such a sweet touch to have breakfast foods to prepare in the fridge.
This place exceeded our expectations. Mark, the host, was very prompt and good with communications. He also provided us with some breakfast basics - nice touch! The property is clean, neat, and exactly as described. Would absolutely rent again.
The house and grounds were adorable and well taken care of. We appreciated the breakfast supplies. I was a little worried not hearing from the host until the night before on check in and out procedures, but that may be standard. Overall it was a great experience.
Cute little house with nostalgic charm. We traveled over Thanksgiving to visit our daughter. We had a small thanksgiving dinner with her. The kitchen was well stocked with breakfast items for us which save a trip to the grocery store! The bed was comfy and we had lots of room. Wasn’t sure about the neighborhood, but we felt safe inside and it was too cold to be outside anyway.
I absolutely loved staying here. Highly recommend it, and will book it again. I was in town for a conference at Milliken U, and this location was ideal. The host gave excellent directions/instructions. Check-in was easy. The home is clean and comfortable with a kitchen with all of the pots, pans, dishes, etc. I was able to bring my dog and walk him around the neighborhood. Breakfast food was left on the counter and in the refrigerator. Lots of coffees and teas to choose from
This is a beautifully maintained home in an old neighborhood, just a stone's throw from the Millikin Homestead. I say hidden gem because I have walked by this house countless times without knowing what what was behind the flower-lined picket fence. The host generously supplied breakfast fixings that saved us from a late run to the grocery the night we arrived. My brother called it an oasis. You can't go wrong staying here. We will certainly try to book this properyy the next time we have to be in Decatur.
Rooms far more spacious than what the photos looked to be. Plenty of chilly AC, AND ceiling fans. Mattresses the most comfortable I've ever slept in !Breakfast waiting in the fridge? Unheard of !!Relatively quiet neighborhood with the rare exception of neighbor's daytime dog. Liked the private parking driveway and the walk to Lock Stock and Barrel was only 2 blks away.No grocery nearby, but we weren't around enough to cook anything. (Fully stocked kitchen tho and washer and dryer in basement.) The ONLY hitch....A beautiful media entertainment center with big screen TV that was totally unwilling to cooperate for broadcast viewing. Wanted to see Monday Night football and no amount of troubleshooting by 2 people produced zero results. : (Highly doubt I'll be returning to Decatur the town I grew up in, but I cannot recommend highly enough this hidden cottage just off Eldorado Ave. A wholly enjoyable road trip overall. A friend and I attended the scrapbooking event at the Mt Zion convention center. This cottage was in the middle of a neighborhood where 1 street looks rough and the next is great. Older quiet neighborhood. Warning that bedrooms and bath are upstairs which was fine for us but if you can’t do stairs it would be a problem. The host left full breakfast fixings in the frig which was a great idea and left fruit and breakfast bars on the counter. The house is decorated in older 70s type furniture that was in great shape. Just cuteness all around. Small back courtyard. We were only there to sleep and the A/C was nice and cold. My only negative is the swinging doors to the kitchen. The springs are strong and no way to latch it open. Made it awkward going in and out. I give it 5 stars for what we needed! We will stay again! Very clean!!!!
This was a trip for work and I couldnt have asked for a better stay! Very clean home with a very attentive host. Check in and out was super easy and everything you need for a comfortable stay is right there.
Mark, the host, is great. The communication, the breakfast, the house. It’s perfect for our needs. This was our second time in as many years and will be booking for next year soon.
