"We stayed here during the last week of April 2026 with our two kids, and unfortunately, our experience was terrible. I’ve been to the Dominican Republic several times before, and people are usually kind and friendly, but that was not the case at Playa Bachata Resort.
The staff was consistently rude and lacked basic manners. One morning during breakfast, we said “good morning” to a waitress, and she didn’t even smile or respond. During dinner, we kept saying “thank you” whenever something was brought to our table, and again, not even a single smile or polite response.
When we asked to speak with a manager, it turned out to be the same person who had been taking care of us. We also tried speaking with the hotel management, but nothing improved.
I would not recommend this place at all. Even if a resort isn’t perfect, good customer service can make you want to come back or recommend it to friends. Unfortunately, Playa Bachata Resort was not that kind of place.
