"I'll start by saying that I'm not a comfortable complainer. I also don't like to leave generally negative reviews, but I can only speak as I find.
I've spent a month touring Europe alone on my motorbike so I've spent a lot of time (and money) on various styles of hotels with varying price brackets.
First the positives - front of house staff were friendly and the view was main selling point.
The negatives -
- My room was not clean, especially the bathroom. Sink and toilet stained and the bin...
"Good hotel and nice staff. Bar was closed very early and waiters could not give dessert at 21:30, but the dessert fridge was just standing next to our table. Heating was a bit noisy in the room. We will for sure recommend, really nice stay"
"Very nice people, even better food and decent parking and clean rooms. Do not expect any shops in the vicinity, but as a central point it is very easy to go everywhere."
"Whilst this is a little walk from Trier station (about half an hour), the hotel is terrific: staff are friendly, the room quality is great and the breakfast was plentiful."
"We had to leave one night earlier due to urgent family circumstances and the lady was so kind to refund the breakfast and a big part of the night we had to cancel. We will definitely go back, friendly staff, good breakfast and a restaurant inside the hotel."
"Great location, provided parking and was on the edge of the old part of Trier making it easy to go and visit. Staff were helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. Enjoyed our stay!"

"A beautiful peaceful countryside stay by the forest, I would love to go again but sadly the receptionist lady's behaviour was strange the way she looked at us, like we're not welcomed I love travelling and I visited over twenty countries but never happened this before. I'm not complaining but this is unusual specially on four star hotels."
NEW! Cozy vacation home in the South Eifel with garden and parking spaces
10/10 Excellent
"We were two couples looking to explore Germany and Luxembourg and this rental property in Irrel was a great location for all of our day trips. Our host Sandy was very helpful and communicative. Our lack of German made Translate a priority, and of course hand gestures! The home was very clean and so well appointed for guests. The kitchen had everything we needed including a Delonghi coffee maker that we loved. The two bathrooms were spacious and very modern. We also liked having some outdoor space to relax after walking around all day. The little town of Irrel had a nice bakery that we walked to most mornings and a grocery store nearby, so that was very convenient.Overall the property exceeded our expectations and I would highly recommend it."
"We loved the pool area, but were disappointed not all the saunas and steam areas seemed to be working. The wellness area had outdated workout equipment but we loved the options for racquetball and ping pong. Getting here is a hassle if you don’t have a car. There is a grocery store and little toy shop very close to the hotel (but you’ll have to walk your groceries up hill to get back to the hotel without a car - Just a warning since we saw some unhappy faces as we drove past them). We loved the pool table downstairs in the bar and our balcony was spacious with great views. It seemed by the overall look of the hotel that it was luxurious back in its day of maybe the 80s or 90s. I didn’t mind it at all and would stay here again! "
