Sleeping Bear Hotel Dorchester
8/10 Good
"Hotel was fine.Clean and well maintained. Thought that the reception staff, not all of them, could have been a little better informed about accessibility to some of the places of interest for Thomas Hardy fans"

The Frampton Arms
10/10 Excellent
"We had a comfortable stay. Although the room was large. The room was clean, comfortable, and well suited to our short no-frills property with the essential amenities, and it met our expectations. There was also air-conditioning, which was a treat for the warmer weather. A good continental buffet was offered. We had dinner in the restaurant and had the Sunday roast. It was delicious and a very large portion. For international travellers, it's worth noting a mini bar fridges is not commonly included in UK hotel rooms, so it's best not to expect one. Overall, we felt the property offered good value for money."

George Albert Hotel & Spa
8/10 Good
"A very pleasant and convenient base for a short Dorset stay. Room very clean and comfortable and usefully a restaurant and bar on site if you didn't want to go out to eat. Good comprehensive breakfast offering too, Our room did look out over adjacent building rooftops -not great - maybe request more open view room. There was a very active mini race track adjacent too but noise stopped early evening - you can see that on Google Earth. Overall, with great staff and good value we would use again happily"

Greyhound Inn
10/10 Excellent
"Great location , very helpful staff great food"

The New Inn
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely stay, very friendly and attentive staff"

Old Ship Inn
8/10 Good
"Fun place to stay... own cottage- like room that overlooked the outdoor seating area, convenient location, great price. No AC, but evening breeze cooled things down. Bit noisy early when the pub gets deliveries, but that's quick and minor. Shower door did not close all the way so floor got wet, but that was probably unique to our cottage. Would stay here again."

The Red Lion
8/10 Good
"Small room, very basic. Shower ok, but door was broken, kept coming off rails. Toilet door wouldn't shut, and lock broken. Breakfast was ok, but could take quite a while, to come out, some days. Only bread option was sourdough, with a tough hard crust, a bit nerve-racking for people with false teeth / plates. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice bar, with plenty of choices. Ample parking."

The Countryman Inn
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely staff. Super room. Fantastic food."

The Old Coach House in Dorset's Area of Outstanding Beauty - 1 bedroom
8/10 Good
"Lovely cottage with hot tub, and parking, in village, with friendly (walkable) Chalk ‘n’Cheese pub (no food), music at weekends. Ideally situated for Dorchester, Bridport, West Bay, Lyme Regis (beautiful area). Most things have been thought of, but could do with some steps, for hot tub, (I am in my late 60’s ). Ideally (especially in this hot weather), take your own top sheet, bath sheets, and fan (if required). Bed was really comfortable, and TV very good. We had a lovely stay, and could be absolutely gorgeous with a bit of TLC to outside areas. Karen very helpful - we left some keys, and she very kindly sent them on to us - thank you, again. Would stay again (if they’d have us), and recommend."
