"We just spent a wonderful week at the Halcyon house and had the best time celebrating our 25th anniversary. The booking experience and check-in process were very easy. The local house manager, Jenny, is a delight to work with. The property is one of the best appointed rentals I’ve ever stayed in. The decor and furnishings are abundant and classy, but not stuffy. We felt very comfortable there. We cooked a few times and found the appliances to be very high end. Additionally, the kitchen is stocked with everything you need and more from small appliances, dishes, bowls and utensils. The deck, pool, hot tub and dock were a highlight and we spent a lot of time outside enjoying our ‘private’ view, from morning coffee to stunning sunsets. The location was perfect since it’s located between SGI and Apalachicola. It was quick and easy to get to both destinations. We are already talking about when we might make our next visit to your wonderful home. Thank you for sharing it with us!"

"We were just three guys on a fishing trip and don't demand much. The house is currently for sale and it should be sold and renovated before it is rented again. The shower in the master bathroom has a special valve on the shower head that you can barely see that must be turned off and on as the shower leaks badly. The ice maker and water filter in the refrigerator do not work, which is very important when you're in Florida. Many of the light switches in the rooms are on the opposite side from where you enter. If you make the mistake of renting this house wear a headlamp. Finally, the upstairs is not suitable for adults. Ceiling height is 5 1/2 feet and there was no mention of this in the rental description. The upstairs bedrooms could be used by children but then the stairs coming down are open with no railing on one side. (Bathrooms on first floor) When I complained about the various issues to the owner he basically said “It is an old house”. He is right. It is old and beat and should not be rented in current state. We have all stayed in many VRBO's on our fishing trips and we all agree this is by far the worst."
