Completely Remodeled Townhome - Ski In/Out - Awesome Views

  • Our 4 bedroom/4bath ski-in/ski-out 1,900 square foot condo (Edelweiss 17) has a brand new interior; solid core doors, all new woodwork, beautifully refinished hickory floors, new paint, carpet, lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, plumbing fixtures and stainless appliances. All bathrooms have custom tile, state of the art glass shower doors and in-floor heat!

    Cozy up to the living room fireplace with custom stacked stone and spacious hearth. Large ski closets with custom wood doors and hand forged hardware keep all the resort toys tucked away.

    Bed Configuration:
    Master bedroom (King) - Main Level
    2nd Bedroom (King) - Top Floor
    3rd Bedroom (Queen) - Top Floor
    4th Bedroom - 2 Single Trundle Beds (4 twins).

    The lower level also has a large laundry room with full size washer/dryer and we also have a pack/play crib as well. Enjoy the Needles views, Purgatory’s signature mountain range of 14,000 foot peaks, from the living room, dining room or the private deck. Resort parking is a premium and this condo has a 2 car carport and additional parking for 2 more cars tandem. Just steps from the slopes, Edelweiss is one of the most desired locations on the mountain. Simply walk out the back door and walk 50 yards to the catwalk that takes you to the main 6 Pack Lift.

    This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay).

    Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.
    Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).

We enjoyed this property. Kitchen could use more dishes and silverware and more linens in bathrooms. Otherwise great stay!

Accommodations

This property has excellent sleeping 😴 quarters that sleeps 10 but the living room and kitchen was way too small for the amount of people that had to stay here. Very disappointed with living area….table way too small to accommodate the guest

Great location, condo was ok

The wifi was not working and all the network names and passwords provided did not exist and didn't work. I finally called the support number that was provided and they provided a 4th password to try. After I rewired the modem and router I finally got it to work. One of the toilets wasn't flushed when we arrived and the condo is not very clean. The kitchen is lacking a few items that would have been nice to have, like foil, grilling tools, a strainer and spices. Overall it was ok and the location is amazing.

Great Stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The location was good and a quick step across to the slopes for immediate ski access. The only thing we would have really expected was the walk across to the slopes to be cleared for those who have to walk to them. They snow was plied up and not cleared for our area and had to walk down to the end of the complex to access the slopes.

Purgatory Resort

We had a great time here and enjoyed the proximity to the chair lift. We arrived pretty late our first night and the check in instructions didn't include our unit number which prolonged us getting situated, otherwise fine. I'm sure we will be back, we loved the area! Pro tip: Purgatory is 40 minutes from a grocery store be sure to load up in Durango before heading out. You likely won't want to make that trip too many times. There is a small market right here near the resort for anything you may have forgotten.

Needs improvements

Queen bed so hard we had to buy a mattress topper, the bathroom had no toilet paper holder, only one lamp, tv in closet on the floor instead of the bedroom wall, the window shade was broken so couldn’t open & close and no hand towels in any bathrooms had to use a wash cloth. The kitchen was sparsely supplied with only a few cooking utensils no Corning Ware type glass containers to use in oven or microwave. I guess they don’t expect people to cook. Only one meager floor lamp in living room & no ceiling lighting so really dark. No chairs on patio only a table so couldn’t sit outside. No pillow cases for the extra pillows they provided. They did have adequate floor fans which was a positive. It was nicely decorated. They did provide liquid hand soap in the bathrooms.

We had a couple of issues but VRC was very responsive and helped out quickly. The downstairs trundle bed was pretty broken down and needs repair. One pillow had a big stain on it and should be thrown away for professionalism sake. Mattresses were just ok and probably need replacing soon. Upstairs bedframe needs attention. Overall we had a good stay.

Overall, an okay place.

First off, the management company was very responsive and the guy that came out was great. The location was great- we have stayed at this same complex (not specific condo) before. The condo is nice, but lacking some attention to detail. The living room lighting is non-existent, the pots and pans were horrible (we asked for new ones and the management brought new ones), the kitchen has very little supplies (no spices, salt or pepper, few cups, few utensils, not great cooking utensils, and the dishwasher isn’t great), the table only seats 6 and the condo advertises sleeps 10, one of the bathrooms upstairs smelled moldy and shower wasn’t great, and the WiFi was terrible (pretty much never worked). We love the location of the condo, but not sure we would stay in this specific one again.

Even had a crock pot and pack and play which was amazing. The showers were pretty new are nicely kept. Heated floors in the bathrooms! Each room has it's own thermostat too which is amazing. They have an amazing storage closet for the ski's and poles. A perfect bench to put on your boots, and tile in the right places to put on and take off ski boots. The carpet is super lush and the best I have ever seen in a condo. I love that each bedroom has a bathroom. The furniture is all in good shape. (except the kids room as noted below.) I usually don't stay in places that allow pets - allergies etc. But there were no traces of hair etc. YAY! The only reason it didn't get 5 stars, The toilets have some pretty bad hard water stains?that are a bit off putting. The oven stunk of burning grease or whatever it was on the bottom. loads of gunk, we were able to clean most of it out on day two. This just means that someone cooked bacon? or Ham and made a mess in the oven and housekeeping didn't catch it. The beds and door handles in the lower "kids" room had been damaged by someone pretty badly. I can only assume kids jumped on the trundles cracking the frames of it. It is sad really, because you can tell they are not old, just rough tenants at some point. The handles are need tightened for the same reason I assume. A few things that might be added to the kitchen: a colander, a cookie sheet, a little more silverware and small plates. Overall a wonderful place to stay, and if they can fix the above it is 5 stars strong!

Loved that we had our own driveway and parking spots. The management company was great and responded quickly to our needs. Purgatory mountain has family friendly activities and unit is within a 2 min walk. Not very many grocery stores nor restaurants close by, so will need to drive into Durango for those. Old Schoolhouse Cafe has great pizza! Would definitely stay here again. I do recommend to other visitors as well.

Our kids were grown up so they need their own beds. This condo has enough beds. We had few problems with shower and etc. But the service people were nice and responsive.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location. A few problems with power loss and a few technical problems with electrical . Nice comfortable condo for family Christmas getaway. Needs new dishwasher. (Does not get dishes clean and leaves dishes very cloudy). Purgy’s restaurant terrible. Food terrible after waiting 2 hours for dinner. Pizza place closed. Not too many other choices for food at the resort.

Nice stay

The place is in a great location on the mountain. It didn’t seem like some spaces were cleaned but the management had someone come out quickly to clean. We really appreciated that. It definitely has some wear and tear but it was nice every room had a bathroom.
