We didn’t realize just how close the hotel was located to Waverly Station. It turned out to be the best decision we made to stay there. The room was spacious and the breakfast was outstanding. So close to Edinburgh castle, the Royal Mile and shopping. Would definitely recommend staying here.

The Mount Royal is located right in the heart of Edinburgh within walking distance of the train station, bus station, most museums and the Royal Mile. The breakfast buffet is wonderful, with beautiful views of Old Town right outside the floor to ceiling windows.

This hotel is located in the perfect location for anything you want to do in Edinburgh. FYI - no parking onsite but who needs it when you are in walking distance to everything. Rooms were clean, however, my phone didn't work and never was able to get it replaced. Also the thermostat seemed to have a mind of its own as the AC kept kicking on. The restaurant has fabulous food (my waiter, Clement?? was the best) and I loved my bartender - he made the best Old Fashions. I stayed here 4 nights and would definitely stay again.

Hotel is so centrally located. We were able to get to all the major sites easily. We were also a stones throw away from the Waverley train station which was helpful when we wanted to go to St. Andrew’s. The room was very clean and despite having a view of the Scott Monument, the balcony window did an excellent job insulating us from the street noise. The staff were all lovely and they stored our luggage for us on our last day before heading to St. Andrews. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to be in the heart of the city but loves a good nights sleep.
