This hotel was very quiet, which was wonderful. The location was decent as it was close to Portobello Beach and had a bus stop right in front of the hotel that took us directly to the Royal Mile. The price was good for what we got, would have loved if the staff was a lot more helpful rather than just pointing at their brochure board when asked questions.
The staff was great. The room was clean. A confusing experience is the lack of signage for the hotel entrance and parking when driving onto the property.
Our stay at Premier Inn was enhanced by the staff. They were very helpful. We did not have enough outlets at the property.

This is a well-located hotel on several bus routes with a handy Tesco next door. The room was clean and comfortable despite showing its age in places, and both the bedroom and bathroom were spacious.
The breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection of hot and cold food in unlimited supply.
However, the hotel needs a bit of an overhaul, which perhaps it's currently getting according to some posted signs. The restaurant is in a sad state overall, with carpets and furnishings very worn and stained, and badly in need of replacement. The 50-year-old steakhouse (where breakfast is also served) was hardly open outside of breakfast hours, and the bar closed at 10 on the rare nights it was actually open. Staff availability seems to be an issue, but we must say that the staff at breakfast worked hard and were very pleasant.
We would return for the location and the breakfast but hope to find a refreshed hotel next time.
Very close to mass transportation, bus stop only 2 minutes from property. Very convenient to walk to King Arthur’s Seat and Sheep Heid Inn as well as Duddington Kirk. Overall a very good experience.

We have a few complaints about our stay. The room was dirty, with lots of dust, cobwebs, and a dirty toilet. I ordered room service only once in four nights, and it wasn't very good. The positives include the comfortable bed and the friendly and helpful staff.

Staff was super friendly, and the location was in a nice quiet little area not too far from city center (by car)
Rooms are spacious, close to bus stop to city
Many lines available. The best is the breakfast, variety and quality. Good value

Staff was super nice and accommodating. The room just didn't feel that clean and it's not really within walking distance from where we were everyday. The price was convenient and I feel like we definitely got what we paid for.
We have stayed in the family room with two children. They had two beds next to the 2 person bed. It was clean and basic but good. There is a good bus connection to the center or you can walk to it through the park. The staff was really nice and the food is good.

We had a pleasant stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a short visit. It's a simple, no-frills place with basic amenities.
Sound proofinf isn't that fantastic. We had some inconsiderate neighbours.
The breakfast was good, with a nice selection to start the day. Continental buffet breakfast set up with cooked english breakfast available on demand.
The location is a little further out from the city centre if you plan to walk. That said, outside the front is a bus stop for the No.44 bus, which was convenient. Ample reasonable paid parking for guests.
A disappointment was that the restaurant is only opened for breakfast and not dinner. There are limited choice of restaurants nearby. You will need to get into the city, nearby Portobello or Duddingston. The bar operating hours also varies. It is generally not opened at night. There is also no coming lounge area to sit and have a chat.
One thing worth noting for international travellers is that air conditioning isn't a standard amenity in many UK hotels, so it's always worth checking before you book if that's important to you. A fan would have been appreciated during the warmer weather. Also, don't assume there will be a bar fridge in the room, as refrigerators are not commonly provided either.
Overall, if you're looking for a clean, comfortable, and affordable place to stay without the extras, this is a solid choice.
