The hotel views were beautiful! The rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom had a bathtub so I could take a bath which was lovely. Breakfast was ok but having a restaurant was a plus on the nights we didn’t want to go out. I enjoyed my stay and would go back.

This is very special location in Edinburgh. Hotel itself is lovely with large rooms and high ceilings. The only concern is that there are some rooms located in the lower level (basement), we were lucky that our request to change the room to upper floor was met by the manager and we had a lovely view of the back gardens. Apparently it's recommended to request that the room will not be in the basement but I was told that it is not guarantied.

Cleaning crew entered our room, regardless of the DND placard. But management addressed and it didn't happen again. The cleaning crew was extremely noisy and disturbed us our last full day. The bartender gave us conflicting info than that received at the front desk, so we didn't visit the bar again. But, Molly who checked us in upon our arrival, was an absolute gem!!!

Second stay here. Staff are excellent. Breakfast is good and the bar is very good too. Reception area is nice. Room was OK - it was quite cold (due to weather and old windows) but a plug-in heater had been provided prior to us checking in. Overall, it's pretty decent but as with a number of places I've stayed recently, feel it's starting to be in need of a bit of TLC/refresh.
