"Thank you to Eduardo for letting us know about upgrading our room. We were on the 5th floor with a balcony, large suite with a king bed. It was great! The breakfast buffet was also very good "

"Rooms are worn out. I read somewhere they’ll renovate soon. Staff is friendly but they look bored, very off character for a Mexican resort. My main concern was food. Brkfst Buffett was terrible and restaurants were meh. Pool is amazing and it is so close to airport that it pains me not to go back, but I wouldn’t. "

"Pool area jaccuzi still not working after two years(last time here)Not hot and no bubbles. Lounge chairs in disrepair. Poolarea not open till 915am one morning. S/be open at 8am.. Staff very helpful."

"We had a mountain view room on a higher floor which mean we couldn't hear any street traffic. The property is in a fantastic location next to several malls and movie theaters if you feel like going off the resort. The beach is in excellent condition and the pools are well maintained. Only thing that I found disappointing was the condition of the gym. Lots of the cardio equipment was in need of repair and there wasn't a lot of weights to chose from."

"I’ve been to many hotels in Mexico, The velas did not disappoint. As far as the resort I would go back every year. We went as a family with about 10kids total, this is a definitely older crowd who gave the kids crusties when they splash them with a ball or screamed too loud. There were a few families and the family atmosphere is great! Very accommodating to large groups at dinner and always taking care of us. "
