Very cute place

We had a very cute stay here! Staff were so lovely and helpful, breakfast was good and the room was nice with a big balcony overlooking the jungle. Would recommend if looking for a budget friendly place

Fantastic Family Stay

An amazing experience, sleeping in the canopy of the forest. We saw lots of animals and fireflies at night. Accommodation is basic as you would expect but beds and bathroom were clean. Ella is a 5-10 minute walk away via the railway tracks. Route was easy to find as directed by our host. Breakfast was delicious and filling.

Peaceful and secluded guest house highly recommend

Ella's Nature Nest is a beautiful spot to spend a few days in a peaceful setting. Close to town, but quiet, the owners are welcoming and hospitable and breakfast is included (not mentioned when booking). Wonderful location to wake up to with stunning views and birdsong. Highly highly recommended.

Very nice stuff and good with a home made breakfast. Wonderful view, it’s a really steep hill up though so either you have to take a car or have good condition (I took the steps as part of my working out routine :)

I can't say enough about how wonderful this place is. It is rustic, peaceful and quiet with a beautiful view. The breakfast is excellent and the hospitality is outstanding. My only word of caution is that there are many steep stairs to get from the road to the property so it wouldnt be appropriate for people living with mobility limitations. Otherwise i highly recommend it.

Ella Nature Nest is a very quiet little place with a fantastic view of the waterfall and surrounding mountains. You can actually hear the waterfall from your room, which is very nice. It is within walking distance from wherever you want to go in Ella, but is not too close to the very touristic downtown area. The breakfasts and teatime are tranquil and lovely. The staff is extremely helpful and kind. I cannot recommend it enough and I hope to be back myself.

Cheap, Good Views and Breaky but V.Basic Hotel

Ella nature rest is a bit above Ella, which is nice as the town is very busy and hectic. However, there are many steep stairs to get to the hotel. But we managed it fine. It's a 10-15-minute walk to Ella along the train tracks, which is quite nice and offers great views. The hotel room had amazing views, and the breakfast was great. We had so much food and got to eat it on the lovely balcony with the view. You can hear the trains occasionally, but they don't run that often, so it didn't bother me at all. There is no air con, but there is a fan. The water seemed to not work very well on the sink or toilet, and it was a bit touch and go whether we could flush the toilet. The bedsheets were not that clean, but it was a very cheap hotel so I guess you get what I pay for!

The owner provided fantastic customer service tailored to our family's every need. Took us to Ella with his tuk tuk, picked us up from the train station, got our laundry done, etc.

Highly recommended! Beautiful place, close to everything. Walking distance to town, train station and Ella Rock. The food was great and available at any time. The host was amazingly friendly and helpful. Anything I wanted to do, he would make it happen. He arranged a safari at Udawalawe for me and even a reserved train ticket! Although I could have just stayed for days watching the monkeys and chipmunks from the balcony! I was traveling by myself and the wonderful stay here made this part of my trip so much easier. Stay here, you’ll love it!

Pleasant stay

Nice little homestay up a hill. Lovely views over the valley and Ella Rock. We had the family room with two large double beds. Niresha was very sweet and helpful, did some laundry for us and provided an evening meal at a good price the evening we arrived. The bathroom is quite old but functional. Shower is weak but lots of hot water. Danushka took us to a few sights in his tuktuk which was very convenient. We took contact details of our tuktuk driver at the station on arrival and used him a few times to ferry us about five hundred rupees to get to or from town. Beds were very comfortable!

Horrible experience and treatment. Arrived in the evening and lady st check in told us it was overbooked and asked us to cancel our order and find someplace else, instead of them finding something else for us and fix their mistake. Then the owner arrives and tells us that room we booked is being renovated. So different stories depending on who you speak to apparently. After a long discussion he finally found us another place for the night, but in another bad place. The morning after they were supposed to pick us up and bring us back to another room but didn’t show up like promised. After an hour of waiting on the streets he sent a tuktuk even thought he knew we had big suitcases and had promised to personally pick us up with his car. Ended up booking another place. Stay awsy from this place

Location war gut über Zuggleise und Schienen zu erreichen. Personal war sehr nett! Lage war gut aber rund 10 mins zu Fuß und mit einige Höhenmeter von Ella enternt. Die unterkunft war leider etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das Zimmer hatte keine Voll verschließbaren Fenster. Es gab Schimmel an der Decke. Die Aussicht und die Natur waren gut. Wir haben uns nicht unwohl gefühlt, aber so richtig gefreut auf die Unterkunft haben wir uns auch nicht. Man kann also viel verbessern - daher stehen wir relativ neutral gegenüber.

Perfekt für einen Aufenthalt

Der Weg zur Unterkunft führt erst mal über einige stufe. Jedoch beleuchtet und mit Geländer. Empfangen wird man von einem etwas in die Jahre gekommenen Gebäude und spritzbetonboden. Davon sollte man sich aber nicht abschrecken lassen. Ich wurde sehr herzlich empfangen, hatte ein großes, helles und sauberes Zimmer mit Zugang zu einem umlaufenden Balkon/Terasse wo man morgends sehr schön frühstücken kann. Das Bad war groß, sauber, auch etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber absolut ausreichend. Vor allem Wasserdruck und die Möglichkeit abends auch mal warm zu duschen sind hier gegeben. Zwei Dinge die in vielen Unterkünften nicht selbstverständlich sind. Bzgl des frühstücks wurde am Vorabend gefragt, wann ich denn frühstücken möchte und mir dann ein reichhaltiges und sehr gutes Frühstück serviert. Der Wäscheservice ist ebenfalls absolut fair. Für 3kg habe ich etwa 1200 Lkr bezahlt. Fazit: Eine kleine, etwas ältere aber Traumhaft schöne Unterkunft. Fernab vom Trubel der Stadt, aber trotzdem ist man in wenigen Minuten mitten in Ella. Unterhalb fährt gelegentlich der Zug vorbei. Ich fand das aber eher Idyllisch und nicht störend.

A good option to stay in Ella

Die Aussicht ist schön. Die Lodge wird von einem Ehepaar bewirtschaftet, aber manchmal musst du dich umsehen, um sie zu finden (da es ihr Zuhause ist). Der Ehemann hat ein Tuk Tuk, 5 Minuten zum Zentrum von Ella oder 10 Minuten zu Fuß (steiler Hügel). Die Zimmer sind sauber, das Wasser heiß genug, das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt. Die Schallisolierung ist sehr schlecht, also musst du auf ruhige Nachbarn hoffen...

Nature Nest ligger lidt udenfor byen, men dog i gå afstand, vis jernbanen, fra alle byens faciliteter. Nature Nest er et gæstehus med begrænset service og rustikt interiør, hvor værelserne dog er store og indbydende. Kan bestemt anbefales. Værtsparret er særdeles venlige og behjælpelige.

Meget smukke omgivelser

Vi boede på "Nature nest" I sammenlagt 5 nætter hvor vi vandrede i den smukke natur lige udenfor døren. Hotellet er et lille familiedrevet sted med meget venlig og hjælpsom service. Værelserne er af passende størrelse og med den nødvendige komfort. Forvent ikke vestlig 5 stjernet luksus, men alt man har brug for er tilstede. Området har en passende mængde seværdigheder til lidt under en uges ophold.
