Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, good size and the balcony with a view. It was quiet too. The only, very minor downside was a bit dark, lack of light in the ceiling. The bathroom was clean, good size and shower was powerful. Breakfast is good too, with lots of selection, from the usual continental as well as hot sausages, bacon, beans, scrambled eggs and boil eggs. Orange juice was good, as well as the coffee. It is close to the train station, closer than I expected. And the ski free shuttle is right opposite the hotel front door. The ski room with boot warmer. There was swimming pool but I didn't use it. Cannot fault it at all, 100% recommended.

I’ll start with the positives. The hotel is very centrally located in Engelberg and offers a direct bus shuttle to the cable car station, which is convenient for skiers and snowboarders. The view from my room, facing the mountains, was beautiful. The breakfast buffet was also good, with a wide range of options. The spa staff were consistently kind, friendly, and eager to help. That said, the overall experience was disappointing. The rooms were far too hot with no way to adjust the temperature. The bathroom did not meet four-star standards, and the pool was smaller than expected. The spa itself is tiny, with two saunas labeled 60°C and 90°C, but neither felt properly heated. The room size was acceptable and included a balcony, but many basic amenities were missing: no iron, ironing board, kettle, or complimentary tea and coffee. The hotel markets itself as four-star due to the pool and spa, yet the room felt closer to a two-star property. Ours was extremely worn, with deteriorating finishes on the wardrobe and bathroom doors. Be cautious if you are not booking a renovated room. The dinner restaurant was fully booked three days in advance, so we were unable to dine there at all. There were also unsupervised children running and screaming throughout the hotel, including in the spa, which made it difficult to relax. Overall, not worth the price. You can find better value elsewhere.

Amazing service at this hotel. We had the best experience and could not recommend enough! Amazing Mountain View and balcony, nice room, comfortable and the kindest most helpful staff. Great location close to the train station, everything is walkable and close. We hope to be back!

Second time in Engelberg, and a flying visit as wanted to go up the mountain, unfortunately the Titlis was a disgusting unsafe building site and we were there not even 5 mins, bad timing! The holiday safe bar two that were excellent were very poor … won’t safe here again

If all you care about is having a clean place to stay, this is fine. However, if you want the restaurant and bar to be open when it’s supposed to be open, have your room cleaned and not have hotel staff force their way into your room yelling while you are naked do NOT stay here. To add more color, I was using the shower, the steam from the shower set off the fire alarm, we opened doors and windows it stopped within a minute. A few minutes later there was loud banging at the door, my partner opened it as I was naked. A member of the hotel staff was there yelling “What are you burning in the room?” My partner said it was steam from the shower, the staff yelled let me in and my partner said it’s the shower, she is naked. Ignoring this, the staff member forced his way in and I yelled “it was the shower” holding a hand towel in front of my naked body. He then abruptly left, said nothing, no apology. Then, within a minute another person started banging on our door (recall the alarm is no longer going off and had not been for several minutes). This person tried to force their way into our room as well but when told it was shower steam just yelled “you cannot shower with the door open” at us and left. I have never experienced such terrible treatment from hotel staff in my life, I will never return. The lack of an apology is unacceptable and if fire detectors are that sensitive a warning needs to be given. A stranger forcing their way into my room while I’m naked is what I’ll remember
