“Peaceful Horizons”, as it is affectionately known, is a one-of-a-kind property located in the gated community of Leatherwood Mountains. The property offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and is perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Peaceful Horizons is comfortably decorated with all the amenities desired for a weekend (or weeklong) getaway. With a fully appointed kitchen and large living areas and spacious deck, there is room for everyone (sleeps 8) to relax and simply unplug. All three bedrooms feature queen beds and full ensuite bathrooms with their own private decks offering stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The property is remote but fully equipped with high-speed internet and wi-fi throughout the home. The home is conveniently located near Wilkesboro (10 miles), Blue Ridge Parkway (10 miles), and Boone (20 miles). Peaceful Horizons is convenient to Charlotte airport with a scenic 2-hour drive to get you there.

NEW – Now sleeps 8 adults with addition of SLEEPER SOFA in the Game Room. Most comfortable Sleeper Sofa you will ever use and simple to operate too!

Lots of updated amenities such as new linens, new appliances and new cookware for the family chef, new board games, puzzles, and books for relaxation. A fully equipped game room with a pool table, ping pong (indoor and an outdoor table), electronic darts, foosball table, shuffleboard and POP DARTS are there to keep things fun. A new large screen TV with seating for a crowd tops it all off.

All bedrooms and the living room are equipped with new Roku tvs and a Hulu subscription. The home offers a full home sound system with Bluetooth connectivity to play your own music.

This home is in the 4000-acre, Gated Community Leatherwood Mountain in Ferguson, NC. Our guests are invited to enjoy our Horseback Riding program where you can experience the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains pristine wilderness by Horseback (reservation required). You will have access to miles of hiking trails, mountain streams, stocked fishing pond, community swimming pool, playground and tennis courts, creek tubing (seasonal), on-site restaurant with active live music & event calendar (guest advised to check hours when planning meals).

Leatherwood Mountains has surveillance or recording devices on the property. Our neighborhood is very safe and our property very secluded. For added peace of mind, we have security cameras by the gated entrance and common areas. Individual properties may also have cameras on the EXTERIOR of homes. Please be assured they are not directed at private areas, hot tub porches etc.

What a beautiful home. The house has everything including a hot tub. The view is astounding from each bedroom and the main part of the house. We did a hike and then would go off to Merlefest. Perfect place to stay.

This cabin had it all...great location, beautiful mountain views and was very clean. The on-site management were so friendly and as a bonus there was an on-site restaurant with live music. Our kids loved looking at all the horses on property. The only thing that could have been better is if the speakers through-out the cabin worked properly (they were staticky). We'd definitely book this cabin again.

Peaceful Horizons is a fantastic house for a family getaway. My family of four spent a week here. Yes, it is a longish, twisty drive up the mountain -- but the view is worth it, and the quiet is priceless. You can choose to stay put and have plenty (or nothing) to do, or you can drive an hour and experience Boone, Blowing Rock, and other area sites with shops, hiking, and history. Asheville isn't too far for a day trip. It was a great, relaxing vacation!

The experience was absolutely amazing. This spot has everything you need in a cabin! Privacy, views, great on site amenities and it was well stocked with everything you need and everything you think you may not need but they have it just in case! I’m am astonished at how well this rental accommodated our ever single need. Our kids enjoyed themselves and me and my husband got the reset we so desperately needed. I know for sure I will be booking this spot at least every 6 months! LOVED our stay!

We had such a grand time! Honestly, the pictures do not give it justice. You must see it for yourself . The view of the mountains reminds me of Gods grace and mercy. Such a beautiful , scenic and majestic view. Such a peace there. The cabin was beautiful and that too, was unexpectedly beautiful crafted and decorated. You must see if for yourself! Pack your food and meals for the days there and ENJOY!

I rented this property for a weekend getaway with 3 friends. The property is located at the top of the mountain but the roads are well maintained so there was no issues making it to the house. The home is very well kept, the home was very neat and clean. The home is so spacious although there are only 3 bedrooms. There's space for up to 6 people to sleep comfortably. Everything you need to cook and eat during your stay is provided (I.e toaster over, pots, pans, utensils, seasoning etc). The outdoor hot tub was a great addition to this property and very easy to use. I would highly recommend this property and look forward to renting it again in the future.

The house is gorgeous and very comfortable. It was an ideal location, particularly when trying to social distance. We had no shortage of things to do both in the house and out. Just sitting on the deck enjoying the view or playing ping pong was enough to make the trip a success. We also enjoyed horseback riding and swimming and tubing in the river. My only suggestion would be to do a little spring cleaning in the kitchen and add a set of glasses. For a rental at this price point I don't expect to need to get a drink of water out of a coffee cup or plastic cup. While the kitchen is otherwise well stocked with the necessities it is a bit of jumbled mess making it difficult to find things. We had to clean up the hand mixer before using it as it was covered in dried batter. Also, the grill was really dirty, particularly underneath where it seems to be missing the grease catcher. These are really small things and overall it was a great experience! We hope to be back soon!

It is a beautifully built and decorated home, and it was very easy to figure out how all the amenities worked. The beds are comfortable, and there were plenty of extra pillows and blankets for the cold weather. Bathrooms were clean, and plenty of towels, soap, toilet paper provided. Teenagers loved the basement game room. The gas fireplace in the great room did a great job of keeping us warm and cozy. Best part: the amazing views from the back deck and hot tub. Most difficult part: the trip from check in to the house is long and winding, but the pay off is worth it!My one complaint (and I did see this in other reviews): the kitchen needs a deep clean. There are food crumbs in the drawers (especially in the utensil drawers), and many of the pots and pans were dirty. To be fair, other renters likely left them dirty — but overall the kitchen was kind of gross and we felt the need to wash things before we used them (dishes were fine — really just cookware and cupboards in need of cleaning). The house also might benefit from a new set of pots and pans — even after cleaning many of the pots and pans were just in bad shape.

It is a beautiful house in a really quiet part of Leatherwood. We had loads of room to spread out, used the hot tub, played lots of pool and table tennis. The view from the deck was fantastic and the hiking and walking were right there and lots of good exercise. The staff at Leatherwood is always gracious and helpful and we hope to continue our stays at Leatherwood. Peaceful Horizons is truly an inviting and restful home. Thank you Leatherwood.

The property was clean, most well stocked kitchen we have ever experienced. Homeowners house book was complete with instructions for spa, tv, stereo system and everything we needed. Quiet, beautiful home with awesome mountain views.
