"Arrived late at our stay and then realised that we had in fact booked for the weekend after! Disaster after a 6 hour drive and very little options. We apologised and explained the error to our host. Amazingly and also luckily the host immediately went to work setting up an alternative glamping pod for us to stay in. The place was immaculate, hosts are extremely friendly and everything about the trip was perfect and as described. We will certainly be returning."

"We chose this cottage due to its location in Appledore and that it's dog friendly. We stayed in Apple Tree cottage. It was a lovely surprise to see what lay behind the No 5 door. The cottage was clean and cosy. Tastefully decorated. It was well equipped with what you need for a comfortable stay. Free WiFi. TV with Net Flix etc.Nice bathroom with bath and shower. "I searched for a property with parking, but it's only street parking. The road to the property is very dangerous to get in/out of, and parking difficult (I not a nasty note from a neighbour because I parked in front of their garden path. Wouldn't stay here again because of road and parking - but if you're not driving, it's a lovely property. Public path right along property - hope you're not bashful when in the shower!"

"La maison était parfaite. Nous avons adoré. À noter - si vous êtes en transport public, faites le plein d’épicerie avant d’arriver à Clovelly car il n’y a aucune épicerie aux alentours à pied. En ce qui concerne la communication rien n’était parfait. Nous avons envoyé un message à l’hôte le matin même de notre arrivée car nous n’avons pas reçu les détails d’accès à la maison. Nous avons appelé le hôte qui est UK cottages. Ils m’informent qu’ils ont envoyé les détails à mon compte Vrbo. J’ai essayé de leur faire comprendre que je n’avais pas de compte Vrbo et que c’était avec Expédia que j’ai réservé. Trop d'intermédiaires dans cette histoire et nous avons stressé pendant 3 heures à essayer d’avoir les détails qui se sont rendus dans ma boîte de messages Expédia trop tard. Nous avons passé 2 nuits et nous avons manqué d’eau chaude le premier jour. Le nom et le numéro de la personne à contacter dans le message reçu n’est plus la personne responsable. Nous avons trouvé un numéro d’urgence dans un cahier à la maison et nous n’avons jamais réussi à rejoindre la personne. Cela fait plus de 16 heures que j’ai communiqué avec l’hôte au sujet du manque d’eau chaude. Toujours pas de réponse. Maison parfaite mais si on a un problème, la communication est inexistante."

"The property was as listed. Very well equipped kitchen. Good hot shower and large bath. Short drive to most places. Definitely need transport. Lovely to sit out listening and watching the birds in and out of their nests. Pitch black dark at night, great for star gazing and so quiet.Donkeys in the back field. Downsides ..... smelt very musty & damp. Clothes hanging up felt damp and towels didnt dry.Too many spiders in every room ( and have been bitten) and in the cupboards in the kitchen. The dust webs visable. Whole place needs a good vaccum. ... used it once but the vacuum smelt so bad.Rugs old and dirty and had dog hair on.The heating didnt come on as instructed . .. just turn the thermostat up and it will come on, well it didnt so must have been on some sort of timer. Strict instructions not to touch the boiler !The weather improved thank goodness so we spent most time out. The hairdryer is a fire hazard, so blocked up with old fluff that it kept cutting out.... only used it for couple minutes the whole week"
