Perfect for couples or single travellers, just 4 mins from Montville or 8 mins from Mapleton, this cottage is in the heart of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland uniquely situated along The Great Walk trek & less than 1 minute from the iconic Kondalilla Falls.

A weatherboard cottage has been converted into a stylish garden retreat perfect for a weekend away. With bright, white shiplap interior & modern country finishings, this cozy hideaway features everything you need for your stay.

The cottage

The cottage is a cozy and quaint space nestled in the back of our Flaxton home property. It has a studio layout - equipped with a kitchenette, queen bed, smart TV, air conditioning, and a private bathroom with a sink, toilet and shower - behind a sliding barn door.

You have full access to the backyard - please feel free to use the fire pit and outdoor seating at your leisure. If you would like to make a fire, there is firewood available for purchase from the nearby Mapleton BP just 5 mins drive down the road.

Your hosts

We (Matt & Mercedes) live in the main house on the property and are happy to chat with you and offer local recommendations or answers any questions you might have about the region - or we are also happy to leave you to it - and completely respect your privacy and solitude.

The cottage is situated just a short walk up the hill from the iconic Kondalilla Falls National Park in Flaxton. Flaxton is a quiet country neighbourhood with no central downtown or general store. However, it is centrally located between Mapleton and Montville - both offering amazing cafes, local shops, wonderful restaurants ( from fine dining to pub fare), as well as all general amenities.

Getting around

The Sunshine Coast Hinterland is best explored by vehicle. Limited public transport. Very hilly and narrow roads make for difficult and dangerous bike riding.

Other things to note

Please note the cottage has its own private rainwater tank so please be mindful of water use.

We are on septic so please be aware nothing should be put down the sink or waste pipes. Please use the bin provided in the bathroom.

Lastly Flaxton isn’t great for mobile signal. We have NBN FTTP which gets usually about 100Mbps so should be plenty for any zoom calls etc if needed.
