Great neighborhood. Pool is fine. Breakfast was fine, people helpful. Annex rooms are small. It's an old hotel with 4-star bones and location and 3-star feel. Front desk is helpful except when asking for the location of a nearby lavanderia, they only showed me the expensive in-hotel service.

A magnificent building (converted villa) in a very salubrious area just outside the Roman gate entry to the old town. It’s about a mile to the Ponte Vecchio or €1 on the bus ! The hotel is a little shabby in places but the pool is a little gem to enjoy after a days walking round Florence, albeit a little cold. The bar area could be buzzing but is infrequently manned and therefore doesn’t draw the guests. We had no wardrobes just a hanging rail and absolutely no drawer space or bedside cabinets In summary, a lovely out of town period property very well located in a peaceful affluent area, ideal if you don’t want to be in the hubbub of the centre of Florence but close enough to enjoy it.

Great experience at Hotel Villa Carlotta. Quiet location with a lovely pool that unfortunately we didn't have time to use. My only note was it would have been nice to have been offered a drink while we were sat by the pool on our first morning but that's a minor minor detail. Loved it and would have loved to stay longer.

Our family of 5 had a wonderful 4 night stay in the main building (kids ages 10,12,14). It’s a converted very old Villa that has been nicely renovated and the room sizes were generous; it was so charming! We really appreciated the pool after hot afternoons walking in the crowded city and museums. The neighborhood is just outside the Boboli Garden two blocks from the Roman Gate but felt like we were staying miles away from the busy, crowded city streets. All you see and hear around the Villa are trees and the sounds of the birds, with almost no traffic noise at all. The hotel wasn’t crowded, and breakfast had a nice variety and the most delicious fresh croissants! The staff was very attentive and friendly. It’s a 4 star hotel but I’ll give it five stars for charm, location, amenities and service!

The hotel offers a calm and pleasant environment. Although it is located slightly away from the city centre, it benefits from close proximity to the bus station, providing convenient access to transportation. The room was clean and well maintained, and the breakfast was of good quality. The hotel’s interior design was particularly appealing. Overall, it was a comfortable and satisfactory stay.

Stayed at Villa Carlotta for 4 night in September and it was great. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is in beautiful and in a safe area a 10 minute walk to Boboli Gardens and the old city. Parking available on site.

It is a wonderful property, beautiful location of Florence. Hotel is in great condition, location is only fifteen minutes away from all the center attractions. We were so pleased with the staff members and especially Angela. She was extraordinary help to us, very professional and extremely kind person. If we go back to Florence, we are hundred percent sure that we will stay there again. Highly recommended place to stay.

This was a very relaxing place to be for the first few days of my trip. It’s the perfect mix of Tuscan country and faster pace of downtown Florence. It was quiet at night except the calm buzz of cicadas outside. Absolutely picturesque views and easy to walk around. Loved access to a pool on super hot days. I’d absolutely come back to this hotel

The staff were really helpful and friendly, it has its own free parking which is a great benefit and is in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood within walking distance of many sights and restaurants. However the part of the property we stayed in is a bit run-down and could use some updating. It worked for us (a family of 3) for the one night and I think would have worked for my spouse and I when we were fresh out of college.

Nice Hotel

We stayed 3 nights here as part of a long trip. This is a lovely hotel in a quiet part of the city but within easy walking distance to Boboli Gardens, Pitti Palace etc. Staff at reception were friendly and helpful. The small carpark is a bit tight but definitely a plus as we were on a driving tour, although there is on street parking right outside which costs €2 per hour (free on Sundays) Our room was comfortable and had a small terrace which was a nice space to sit and relax Breakfast was nice, fairly simple, everything was fresh and the breakfast room overlooking the pool was nice too. We didn't use the pool but it was a good addition to the facilities and was really clean and well maintained.

Hotel was functional; bar facility poor; breakfast was average; swimming pool unusable due to lack of cleaning; paint peeling off ceiling in bathroom; no porterage assistance with steep steps and no ramp leading up to hotel entrance; however reception staff helpful with taxi requests.
