The hostel and its rooms (both single and shared rooms) are clean! The staff is nice! The location is super tactical. The bathroom should be cleaned more often! Despite that, everything is percect?
Ostello is a great location, away from the touristy areas. My husband and I chose this place, for the 3rd time because it’s in a local & quiet neighborhood. There are about 3 restaurants and a gelato place within 3 min of walking.
We stayed for a week (for the 3rd time) and here’s things to consider.
You won’t be getting new towels, toilet paper and change of sheets, after staying many days, unless you ask. We stayed for a week, as a family of 4, and had to ask for new towels and more toilet paper. Yes, we even bought our own toilet paper and brought our own towels.
There is a laundry mat, within 5 minutes, which was useful.
There were some nights where food and drinks were available to buy, but not every day.
Loved this place, 100/10!! Super safe neighborhood, close to town (15-20 minute walk). Best part was air conditioning. Host was very helpful in recommending places to visit! Highly recommend! We were 2 young females and felt very safe here
Great staff but only there in afternoons. No longer access to the kitchen which is disappointing. Beds are uncomfortable very hard. Otherwise great building.
We loved being able to walk to museums, restaurants, and gardens from the Ostello Tasso. The staff is super cool and they gave us some good advice during our stay. We love the funky feel of this old school converted into a very hip hotel for young people on a tight budget and old codgers like us that want to really experience a city. They also play really good music in the main gathering area!
Consiglio sicuramente.
Good location, great price and cute, stylish room. Comfy bed. Check in was an issue, I couldnt get someone to open the door for me and when they did they couldnt find my reservation from expedia so I couldnt check in. I came back later around 7 and noone was there to let me in my room and my italian friend had to call the phone line literally over 25 times to get someone to answer. Finally someone answered and no one actually ever came in person to give me my key but apparently they left my room unlocked with the key in it. So there is not actually 24/7 reception. However, this inconvenience was made up for by the fact that the bar downstairs is the coolest underground bar club scene I’ve ever been to. They had a DJ playing trippy electronic music and locals came to dance all wiggly it was awesome. I hope to visit this bar again if I ever come back to Florence. But on the other hand, if you are a loud sleeper, the bar gets pretty loud and you can hear it in the room.
