Loved my stay! Very clean and comfortable hotel in an excellent location, surrounded by amazing restaurants. The staff were attentive and made sure everything was perfect. Highly recommended.
Very cool hotel with a lot of vintage charm. Loved the outdoor hallway leading to the rooms - would have been a great spot to sit during the summer months! Also, Lucia was a very gracious host, very helpful with Florence recommendations!
Very nice room we stayed in, with decent bathroom and shower. Very clean, and comfortable. Excellent location for seeing the sights.
Not easily accessible by car if you're driving, so watch out. The host was very helpful and made our stay and welcome pleasant.

Liked: Staff & service
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room opens onto a communal terrace which means that it can be noisy.
We had five nights here and it was a lovely base from which to explore the city. Our host Ulrike was very helpful throughout, accommodating a very late check in and arranging taxis for us. The apartment was lovely, clean and comfortable and has lots of cafe options for breakfast nearby
We had an excellent stay in the Teatro suite, a huge apartment all to ourselves. Location was central and walkable to all major touristic attractions. Our hostess Ulrike was very helpful and responsive to our needs. Would definitely recommend especially for a family needing a larger space.
This property is a very charming historical property. We really appreciated the decor and that it did not look like a run-of-the-mill hotel. Ulrike and her team were extremely helpful, communicative, and provided the absolute best service! The site gave great suggestions for dining, attractions, shopping, and tours that we utilized for our short stay. The location was a short walk, less than 5 minutes to dining and shopping. This was a really pleasant experience.
We spent four nights at this charming renovated Relais, and used it as a convenient base for exploring many of Florence’s cultural and historical sites. The owner, Ulreka, was a wonderful hostess and an amazing individual. We highly recommend the property for anyone planning a relaxed and enjoyable visit to Florence.
Property was very comfortable and Ulreka the owner was awesome to communicate with and very helpful. She was always available and gave us some great insight to the sights and shopping. She even was able to assist us getting some assistance at a local pharmacy. Had a great stay in Florence with this room as our get away for rest.
We had a lovely time in the family suite. Would come again. Definitely recommend. Thanks to Ulrike, the owner, who puts her heart and soul into Relais grand tour.
A really lovely stay, and a lovely greeting as we arrived. Our room/suite was huge which was such a lovely suprise.
We were close to the train station but also so close to everything it was great, and ulrike was purely lovely and talked us through a map of where to go what to see and where to eat, which really helped us.
We woukd stay again in a heartbeat.
This is a wonderful small hotel. It is centrally located and the rooms are palatial. There are no elevators and there isn’t anyone to help with luggage, so be aware of that. The owner lives on the premises and is very helpful. Overall, a very pleasant stay.
Our stay here was fantastic! It was recommended to us by family friends and they were spot on with the location and our host Ulrike- both were spectacular! Room was so comfortable, location was very close to all the sites but it was nice to come home to a quieter neighborhood for the evening. Ulrike had wonderful communication, both pre and during our stay. She was so helpful with recommendations for vegan/vegetarian options for us- I could go on and on about how great our stay was. We would go back and stay in a heartbeat.
Very good location close to the downtown Florence. The owner and her assistant were very nice and very professional. Room was cozy and comfy. The only thing I would say is there was no AC in march as it is connected to all room. Was a little warm inside but other than that I strongly recommend it.
The host allowed us to check in late since we had late night connecting flight from Germany. The place is well-kept and quite spacious for 4 people. It has certain old world charms, such as floor-top terrace and upper-wall windows that we do enjoy.
The nearby restaurants are quite good, but less crowded vs. near the Campo di Fiori. A good dinner for 4 people costs around 80-90 euros. There are also a few Asian restaurants nearby if you are tired of paste and steaks.
The place is a little bit on the northern edge of the main attractions, but the walk is manageable. We would recommend the place to our friends if they visit Florence.
Ulrike was an absolute dream to work with. She could not have been more accommodating, from letting us store our bags when we arrived before our official check in time, and letting us keep our bags in her office after our check out time so we could see one more sight before our train left. Our room had a quaint view of a garden and was so quiet at night. We could not have had a better first experience in Florence, and so much of that was due to Ulrike.
We really enjoyed our stay at Relais Grand Tour. Room was clean. Comfortable shower. We couldn't believe how quiet it was even though we were in the middle of the city. Our sleep wasn't disturbed by any noises. Convenient location. Withing walking distance to most main attractions. We felt very safe. Room has an authentic feel with many little details. It was great to have a tea cattle in the room. We were able to make tea and coffee whenever we wanted. It was easy to communicate with the owner. She agreed to keep our luggage free of charge until our check in time. We highly recommend this property. Great place to stay!
This was our first trip to Florence. Family of four stayed in one of the suites. Enormous suite with kitchen, huge family room, and two upstairs bedrooms. Plenty of room. This is in an excellent location on a side street close to a grocery store and lots of little shops. It’s about a 10 to 12 minute walk to the tourist attractions and the river. Also close Enough to the train station that you can get back-and-forth by taxi in under 10 minutes.
The owner, Ulrike, deserves all of the five star reviews that she receives. My wife and I spent some time speaking with her. What a lovely person! She made sure we had a taxi the morning of our departure and texted us several hours after we checked out to let us know that a planned train strike a few days later was canceled so we would not need to buy bus tickets. We will 100% come back to visit the next time we come to Florence.
Amazing Property! Truly enjoyed our stay there. Historic building with all amenities. Very centrally located. Our apartment had 2 king size beds and a massive living room with 4 bathrooms. 10-15 minute walk to the rail
Station as well most historic sites in Florence. What sets this property apart are the hosts. Ulrike and Satya go
Above and beyond to make your stay a pleasure. Daily room cleaning are available. Exceptional advice on shopping and excursions was provided. They were super flexible in helping me out when I made a mistake and booked incorrect dates. They managed to help me with accommodation during peak summer travel. They also were super helpful when I missed my flights and arrived late evening. The check in and check out was smooth. I stay in airbnbs all the time and I can’t recommend this place enough. The apartment and Ulrike and Satya’s hospitality were truly exceptional. If I were to come back to Florence again in the future, I would book again at this Airbnb.
On the plus side, the location is within walking distance of all the sites you'd want to see in Florence. The bed is comfortable to sleep in when the mosquitos aren't buzzing in your ears. Ulrike presents as a pleasant, helpful landlady but she is really just managing a dubious product.
If we were students, we might have been OK with the lodging. But we are a older and hope for a pleasanter resting place. After climbing up two flights of stairs we were shown into a room that wasn't what we expected. We thought we were getting a bright, airy room but this one was dark and dank and didn't appear to have been upgraded or refreshed in years.
A couple days before getting to Florence we got a message from Ulrike asking if we wanted a double bed as opposed to the two singles we had booked; we said sure. But she switched us to a different room altogether. When we brought our concern to her attention she just repeated that we got what we asked for.
In the room the lighting was poor - no overhead lights and just one small plastic bedside lamp, set on top of a small ottoman and two books stacked to raise it almost level with the top of the mattress. Not conducive to nighttime reading.
We were told we'd have the "garden view" but that turned out to be of the next door neighbor's garden down below and to the left. The unit's amenities included small packets of nescafe and an electric hot water pot plus two mismatched wine glasses. It is a bare bones operation.
