First, Daniela, the concierge who handled a few communications via email/messaging was amazing, as were all the individuals we were lucky enough to interact with during our stay. Special call out to the restaurant staff, massage team, and yoga instructor. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, flush with vegetation and wildlife (esp. monkeys) in abundance. We were a bit caught off guard with the outside showers in the central bungalows, which were fine once we got over it, though they could’ve been a bit cleaner. All bungalows are tucked into the foliage so you definitely get a sense of wonderful isolation and peaceful tranquillity. The thermal river is amazing and the associated hike to and along the water is great, with tons of opportunity to soak in the water and spend many hours enjoying the day.
Beautiful setting in the middle of nature with great variety if wildlife and activities on premises. Not quiet, as at night all animals come alive, but for us the jungle noises and rain were super relaxing. Excellent service and food. Ownership truly cares about the environment and growing this ecosystem. Fantastic! One of a kind!
Everything we experienced at Rio Perdido was excellent. The accommodations, staff, meals, activities and service could not have been better. Will plan another trip there in the future.
Top notch Luxury Resort! Incredible stay at Rio Perdido!
It is truly a great place to be with nature, relax, enjoy great food, and a staff that are just as happy to be there as you are.
One of the most extraordinary hotels and properties I have ever visited. All activities for the 20 some cabins are available immediately, and every care and consideration is taken care of by the most amazing, kind, and attentive staff.
This is an amazing place to visit if you want peace and quiet . Perfect place to immerse yourself in the nature. Getting there is a long trip but well worth it.
We had a relaxing couple of days in this beautiful hotel. The staff are excellent, food was good, hot pools were lovely, rooms were amazing. We enjoyed ourselves in this unique environment.
The employees at this hotel are proud to be there. Very attentive group with a high sense of urgency. The resort was beautiful and clean. We will definitely be back!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 — A Truly Magical Experience at Río Perdido
Río Perdido is one of the most extraordinary resorts we’ve ever visited — a hidden gem that exceeds expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with genuine warmth and hospitality. The maids, servers, concierge team, and everyone on site were unfailingly kind, attentive, and made us feel like we were among friends.
The resort itself is stunning. Set within a private preserve of forests, canyons, and geothermal wonders, every view feels like a postcard. The thermal river is unforgettable — relaxing, healing, and unlike anything you’ll experience elsewhere. We loved the beautiful hiking trails, restorative yoga sessions, and exhilarating zip-lining.
The food was exceptional across all restaurants, with fresh ingredients, great flavours, and flawless service. Every meal felt special.
A true highlight was meeting Gabriel and his father — two of the most gracious, passionate people you’ll ever meet. Their love for the land, the community, and the guest experience shines through in every detail of the resort.
Río Perdido is magical in every category: service, nature, activities, food, and atmosphere. We can’t recommend it highly enough and will absolutely be returning.
The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. They were very friendly and attentive. The ziplinning experience is a must! The thermal river and pools were even better than expected. The mix of luxury, relaxation, and activities were exactly what we wanted in a trip to Central America. From hiking to the spa experience, can't express how perfect this was.
We had an amazing stay at Rio Perdido. The grounds are beautiful. We saw monkeys, an armadillo, and lots of beautiful birds. The dining was delicious and the staff were all so friendly and accommodating. The road getting there is a little daunting with all of the potholes, but that just made it even more of an adventure :)
If you are looking for peace, for beauty, for adventure, for an extraordinary kind and knowledgable staff you will find all of that and more at Rio Perdido. This place offers so much to people of all ability levels. Every staff member we met from managers to adventure guides to gardening staff, waiters, and housekeeping all seemed to do their jobs with a happy heart and never failed to greet us even just in passing warmly. We hope to one day return to this little slice of heaven.
After 10 years of traveling, This is one of my favorite hotels in the world. So much so that I went back for another visit and would definitely love to visit again.
The road to the property needs some maintenance though, otherwise the property itself is still in great condition.
I just love the architecture of this property that immerses itself in nature.
