"The room was nice. Not big but as I expected. The dinner we had in the pub restaurant was very good. Chef cooked us a meal from the lunch menu as we didn’t want a formal dinner menu. The cooked breakfast was, however, awful. (I suspect not the same chef). Ordered Eggs Benedict. The sauce was runny, almost watery and the ham seemed like cheap supermarket processes sliced ham. Awful, especially as it wasn’t cheap. Also thought that for breakfast there should be free coffee refills (have to pay extra for coffee and orange juice although these are apparently included in the Continental breakfast). Would suggest you stick to continental or eat breakfast out. Staff pleasant and generally enjoyed stay. The price was reasonable and the standard was as expected in the price range and in a pub like hotel."

"Wonderful location and dining experience. The odd niggle including issue with elderly mothers room, requested walk in shower but on arrival given a room with bath. It was quickly sorted however. The room was fine for one night but the sash window was faulty and wouldn’t stay open. Overall highly recommended "

"Great place to stay. All staff were welcoming and friendly. Very dog friendly and comfortable. A few dog rules but nothing out of ordinary - Easy to abide by. Car park to rear. Bedroom was clean and well equipped. Bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast choice good. Presented well and very tasty. We also had a very good experience of restaurant meal in the evening. Some wall/ floor areas in the place were knocked and marked but its a bar/restaurant so some wear and tear is expected from customer use. It certainly doesnt detract from the friendly, welcoming and good service that we experienced "

"Loved the big garden so our dog could run and have fun where he is usually kept on a lead on walks. Always clean. Found this place last year and had several little stays and look forward to our next one. Also my husband loves trains so perfect spot."

"Arrived and was easy self check-in, val keeps you updated on everything. Passes and permits waiting in caravan, nice welcome pack with chocolate, coffee, tea and card greetings. Everything was clean and modern. The view was amazing. Highly recommend 👌 "
