Cute little hotel, really clean, and welcoming staff. Situated in a good location. The only downside was it was quite noisy on the street at night. I would definitely recommend staying!

Great location

The suite room was big, comfortable, and spacious. The location is great as well. Only hiccups were during check in. That could have been smoother but seemed like they were training.

Incredible location at the heart of George Town. The room is comfortable and clean. The staff are efficient and the hotel itself has some really nice communal spaces. Only downside is that it can be a bit noisy at night but we got used to it after the first night.

Beautifil interior of the building. Just like the pictures. Spacious, lovely. Deep soak bath was a delight. Didnt get any sleep the 4 nights I was there. Midnight parades, 3am road works, bars and clubs all weekend. And just as noisey during the day..

Unassuming entrance once inside Large new stylish rooms with bath and monsoon shower. In room safe. No refrigerator or tea/coffee. Wifi bit sporadic. TV didn’t work. Good location near bars and restaurants although parts of Chulia St resemble now resemble Kuta. Room fronted onto street and despite double glazing was loud until the wee hours

Great location, but noisy & bad WiFi

Tien is well located just on Chula street, very close to nice restaurant, cafes and sights. Unfortunately it is a quite loud neighborhood and the windows & walls just let any noise come through. Therefore you’ll hear the bar music & people until 2 am. Ok for one night or two but not relaxing at all. Room was clean & well decorated. The bathroom lacked some shelves and moreover there was no bathroom door - only a curtain. Service was OK but WiFi was extremely bad. It was impossible to have a WiFi call and even sending pictures / writing emails took ages.

Room was decent and clean. Location is good for sightseeing and eating. They only have one person at the front desk one shift a day. If you arrive early or late no one is there to check you in. If you have a problem or lose your room card same thing.

We found this hotel to have charm but the street noise, lack of bathroom door and mediocre cleanliness out weighed the charm. We also booked because we wanted to have a pool to cool off in after seeing the sites but the actual pool size was much smaller than what the photo looked like on line. For the money I think there are better options.

Do not have proper lobby at ground level, the reception is at 3rd floor, unfriendly to elderly as need to climb by staircase.

1) Booked a suite room - defective aircond and apparently many ppl have complained before. 2) staff came back to room to give us second access card, didn’t even knock the door just tagged and open the door. 3) shoes are to be removed, but they make us walk barefoot through dirty areas to the suite room. 4) night staff tried to short change us by charging additional tourist tax of rm 24 although he knows we are locals. We took refund the next morning from the morning staff and only paid rm2. 5) ID of this place is nice but definitely need to improvise on maintenance.

The staff are only present at the reception for a few hours during the day. No one was at the reception desk when we wanted to check out in the morning. The reception was right outside of our room so we could hear a lot outside of our room. The bathroom has no door, just a curtain.
