The Ridge Gloucester was awarded the Best People's Choice in NSW for the 2014 Stayz Awards.

The Ridge combines state-of-the-art sustainable design with absolute luxury!

* Nestled on 100 acres on the northern side of the Bucketts with panoramic views of the of the Barrington and Gloucester River Valleys and overlooking the township of Gloucester.The Ridge provides the ulimate in a luxury getaway holiday.

* The house consists of two pavilions with north facing aspects providing a different panorama from every room. With sleeping for up to 12 people in 5 bedrooms (plus sofa bed) and 3 beautifully appointed bathrooms, the house is perfectly suited to accommodate groups of friends and/or families and is large enough for small conferences.

* The Ridge is designed with a passive solar layout and materials by award winning Sydney architect, Gareth Cole. The Ridge is fully powered by a stand-alone solar power system. In fact the entire house is off the grid!

* The modern fully equipped kitchen boasts a 4mtr X 1.2mtr stainless steel island bench housing a gas cooktop, dishwasher and double sink.

* For your entertainment, a 46" LCD flat screen TV with surround sound system,a DVD and CD players are provided in the lounge room and a TV and DVD/VHS player are provided in the family room.

* To keep you cool in the summer,the house is provided with air conditioning in the lounge, dining and kitchen areas with overhead fans in the bedrooms and family rooms. To keep you cosy in the winter thermostat controlled underfloor heating is available right throughout the house.

Three bedrooms have a queen size beds and two bedrooms have two singles in each room. There is also a fold out sofa bed in the Family Room.

Peaceful and stunning

This was our second time staying at The Ridge and for good reason. If you are looking for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of city living I can definitely recommend this outstanding oasis. Tranquility, birds, Wallaroos, and a winding pathway leads you to a superbly designed house which can accommodate 2 families with ease. I love this place. Green frogs, the fire pit, relaxing outdoor setting overlooking the mountain ranges and Gloucester which is only 5-10 minutes away by car. Do nothing or do plenty with scenic drives, waterholes, and the famous Barrington Tops for those who like adventure. My favourite part was waking up every morning and seeing a different weather pattern. Some days were really foggy and other days were so clear. Being up so high felt like heaven. I’m sure we’ll see you again.

Beautiful house in an incredible location

We had a fantastic stay at The Ridge. From the very beginning, communication with Dan was exceptional. Check-in was easy and the house was well equipped and far exceeded our expectations. We especially liked that we could bring our dogs along, the amazing shower in the main bedroom, multiple outdoor areas to relax, evenings by the fire pit, and incredible views across the surrounding areas. We all agreed that we didn’t want to leave and should have booked an extra night! We highly recommend staying at The Ridge, and will likely be making another reservations soon as other family and friends want to join us for the next stay. Thanks again for having us!

Bliss

Fantastic property located in a very peaceful and beautiful setting close to town. Property would be well suited to family groups. We brought our dog and she loved it. Fence is barbed wire so had to keep an eye on her but that was fine. Dan was very helpful and responded promptly to questions. Beds were comfy and shower amazing. Would definitely stay again

Glorious Gloucester

The Ridge is a fabulous home! Stunning views from perfect fire pit in the evenings. Easy access to town and great spot to explore walks/mountain bike tracks. Home is well fit out with lovely linen/towels and kitchen with everything you need. Great location for a real escape.

Terrific holiday

We were very pleased with how clean the house was and the landscape views. Along the way there were many exciting opportunities to see the cows and kangaroos around the house. We really appreciated how the price of accommodation remained consistent with previous years despite many other accommodation prices inflating due to the Covid-19 virus. Even though the Adventure Centre was closing, we were still able to enjoy nearby attractions such as the Rainforest bushwalk 15 minutes away. The Ridge is definitely a great place to relax and bond with family, with the campfire and lounge area being perfect with our pet dog. Not only was the accommodation luxurious but its location was ideal. At only a 3-minute drive away, we were able to go to the local town which had many restaurants, cafes, and a Woolworths which made grocery shopping extremely convenient. Our check-in and check-out experience was seamless, with the owner Dan quickly replying to any issues we had. Overall, this vacation home was splendid. We highly recommend The Ridge and we’re hoping we can come again the following year for the third time!

A beautiful escape

From the picturesque surrounds of the countryside, to the luxurious feel of the gorgeous home, we had a wonderful time staying at The Ridge! Highlights were - the main shower with pebble floor and great views; the number of thoughtful inclusions at the property; the fire pit (we used twice, and toasted marshmallows one night)!; the close proximity to town (can recommend the Roundabout Inn for steaks); misty morning view; cows close by and even saw a kangaroo! Would highly recommend The Ridge for a relaxing getaway.

Brilliant house fabulous location

Fabulous house well fitted out. Kitchen was well equipped with everything you could need. Dan is an excellent communicator and extremely helpful. Fire pit was great fun but you do need to order your wood. Will definitely stay again.

Magical, unique, cathartic

The moment we were approaching the house we could sense something special. The house is perfectly positioned with views as far as the eye can see. Beautiful mountains, hills, valleys and cattle await. We woke one morning to a Kangaroo outside our bedroom window with a joey in its pouch before hopping away. The fire pit was a great attraction every evening as we surrounded it mesmerised as the logs burnt away. This house has everything you really need. It also appeared to have its own weather pattern as it is so high above the local townships. We loved that the view with cloud formations, or fog/mist would continuously change never allowing the view to be the same. We loved that the property was off the grid with its own solar panelled electricity and water from the rainwater tanks. Some added surprises were the Australian King Parrots in abundance and the beautiful Green Tree Frogs which the kids adored. If you like star gazing go outside with no lights and look up. I doubt you will see more stars than this location particularly if you come from the city. Dan thank you so much for the experiences we encountered at The Ridge. It is evident that a lot of thought went into the design of the house. Well done. The biggest disappointment I suspect which most people would have is leaving. I would have liked to stay longer. A second visit is on the agenda.

Great place to stay with a large group of family and friends. Cooking facilities great. Outdoor seating is fantastic with a glass of wine watching the sunset over the hills. Short walk to town. Manager very helpful.

Peaceful and beautiful

We loved everything about this beautiful home and our fabulous holiday at The Ridge. The house located at the top of a hill has a tasteful decor. A fantastic house in a fantastic spot. Very clean and a lot of privacy. The kitchen was well equipped with all the essentials. When you are driving from the bottom up the hill, there are always a few wallabies jumping around. It is also very accessible to the town or bush walking and adventure centre. A huge thanks to the owner Dan for always promptly replying and providing wonderful service. We hope to come back to The Ridges one day!
