Stoney Steps, a spacious apartment in the heart of the English Lake District

"This a spacious 2 bed apartment in the Mews of an Inn on the southern end of lake ullswater in glenridding. The location is very convenient to the small village and hiking trails. The apartment did not have a view, but was well suited for spending time in the area. We were there mid September so late in the season, and the pricing was great value especially compared to london. Coming from the US, the washer/dryer in one appliance takes some getting used to (it took several hours to do a mid sized load, and was hard to figure out how to use for us at least). The kitchen could be slightly better equipped with nicer utensils and pans, but was more than adequate! Overall, would highly recommend staying here, due to size, location, and overall quality. An excellent value!"

"Good basic clean accommodation . I stayed just the 1 night due to a wedding at inn on the lake which is situated across from guest house . Room was good with en suite shower & toilet . Breakfast was really good , full English etc . Recommend for a short stay"

Glenridding Manor House

"My wife and I had a very enjoyable and peaceful stay. This property was ideal for our needs. It only has 5 bedrooms, so the quiet, friendly, relaxing atmosphere was perfect. The host Elaine was very hospitable and always on hand for our every need. The room was newly decorated to a high standard and had a balcony where we could sit and relax, with a lovely view of the lake and mountains. We didn't stay for an evening meal but our breakfasts were excellent. Plenty of fresh fruit and cereals and a very good cooked breakfast with good local produce. The property borders the lake with seating adjacent to the water for a relaxing rest. The property is a very short walk into the Glenridding, with its shops, pubs and cafe's. Also, a short walk to Glenridding pier where steamers run regularly along the length of Ullswater. It wasn't a real issue but the grounds of the hotel has several old cars, caravans and boats stored which detracts from the pleasant gardens."

"We love the Leeming House Hotel, it is sad though that since it was Trust House Forte, it has gradually become tired, some of the exterior paintwork needs urgent work, the gardens are not what they used to be, the rooms are fine, however loving the contemporary furnishings for the period of the house, it is disappointing that it is all a bit tired, some paint could be bought and A Little love put into the building. On the side of service, I am disabled and my wife went downstairs to get some tea at The about four or 430 in the afternoon and she found someone to order it from, because there was no telephone in the room from which to order room service! And she needed two trays of tea as her sister and brother-in-law were going to join us for tea and she was told that was no problem, but it would be £20 to deliver the tea, incredible for a Hotel of that quality to blatantly charge for something that is a normal service is incredible, obviously we were happy to pay for the tea but it was the delivery also my wife asked for some biscuits and they said they didn't have any!! After lunch with my coffee I did ask if there was any chocolate and Jeff the weekend manager who is so nice said they don't have chocolate in the building however he went away and found some delicious home-made shortbread, what happened to that teatime!! The next morning we had a very nice breakfast, although the enjoyment was dampened as my sister-in-law asked for a latte to be told that was an extra charg"
