Overall a good place to stay

The stay was good. Small parking lot with some awkward spots. Overall it was a good experience with friendly staff. The room was a little dated it felt and the bed was not the quietest being on a metal fram like a hollow filing cabinet.

Let me start by saying, The holiday lodge was my home away from home when we would come visit Nevada city. Unfortunately with this last stay my home turned into an extended stay third world lodge. First the vanity lighting in the bathroom did not work , then we found a baseball size blood stain on are sheets, then to top it off the bed and pillows were so out dated. I’ve stayed in many of hotel rooms, but by far this is the worst and most uncomfortable room my wife and I have ever stayed. I Don’t usually write reviews. But for the price of the room the standard was far from being met. Honestly not even close. I will never pay to be UNCOMFORTABLE at THE HOLIDAY LODGE EVER AGAIN… I had good memories but this last stay really showed the LACK of CARE and PASSION for the once well respected lodge.

Emergency visit to Grass Valley, Ca

Just what we needed for end of day restful night sleep after taking care of ill family member during the day, very clean, newly renovated rooms, quiet area, affordable rate per night, friendly staff. We only booked one night at a time due to uncertainly of duration of our stay in the area, we ended up with five night stay. Sadly, it was the last visit to Grass Valley area, family member we were taking care of passed on same week.

I was a bit concerned when i pulled in because there was only one other vechicle in the parking lot. But once I saw the room i relaxed. It was clean and had everything I needed. The lot eventualy filled up in the evening.

Water not hot enough for a shower

We didn't need much, just a clean, basic place to stay. It was clean enough, and quiet. But after the water ran for a LONG time it got barely lukewarm, and never hotter than that.

Horrible experience

DO NOT STAY HERE! I reserved/prepaid for a room on a booking site for some friends that came into town. The man at the night window refuses to honor the booking stating “you didn’t pay it to me so take it up with somebody else” and when he was asked to look at the itinerary number they were told he wasn’t going to give them the room and brandished a handgun then set it on the counter in the night window. I could not believe the treatment that was going on as I listened to the whole thing unfold as I was on the phone with them while they were trying to checking in. I live in this area because I like the small town feeling and how friendly people are. The last thing I would’ve expected was to have my friend treated in such a manor. The employee working tonight has so business working with the public!
