"We went down to Cape Town to participate in the 2026 Cape Cycle Tour and decided to stay closer to the start and finish lines. We stayed at the Protea Breakwater Lodge a few times before and found it to be perfect. We'll probable do the same in 2027."

"Really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, which was small and in quiet location. Pool area was small but clean and tidy. Staff were very helpful. Only downside to the hotel was that the sink in our room was terrible (luke warm water and almost a trickle from the tap). The shower was fine but the overall condition of the bathroom wasn't good. The rest of the hotel room was acceptable. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and think it was good value for the price."

"Really lovely & in a nice area. The hotel was clean & exactly as pictured. The staff were incredibly helpful and nice. The room was a little small, but for the price & location, you can't beat it. I would say the only thing to note is that the stairs are very steep if travelling with large bags. But, the front desk staff did help me carry my bags all the way up. I'd stay here again. All in all, a very easy, straightforward place to stay in Cape Town. "
