Welcome to Castle Hill, a charming 2-bedroom retreat in Haltwhistle, the heart of Hadrian’s Wall country. Nestled in a historic town, this cozy home offers easy access to stunning walks, local pubs, and shops. Explore the rich Roman heritage at Vindolanda and Housesteads or take in the breathtaking Northumberland National Park. With modern comforts and a peaceful setting, Castle Hill is perfect for history lovers, hikers, and those seeking a relaxing getaway in an idyllic location.

Interaction with guests will be via booking platform messaging app unless there is an emergency where the host will respond to you via call. Please make first contact via app otherwise we may not pick up your enquiry.

Castle Hill is located in Haltwhistle, a charming market town known as the "Centre of Britain." Surrounded by breathtaking countryside, it’s an ideal base for exploring Hadrian’s Wall, with famous sites like Housesteads Roman Fort and Vindolanda just a short drive away. Nature lovers can enjoy scenic hikes in Northumberland National Park, while the South Tynedale Railway offers a picturesque journey through the countryside.

For local entertainment, Haltwhistle boasts cozy pubs, independent shops, and cafés. The Haltwhistle Swimming & Leisure Centre provides family-friendly activities, and the town hosts events throughout the year, celebrating its rich history and culture. Carlisle and Newcastle are easily accessible for shopping, dining, and additional attractions. Whether you're here for history, outdoor adventures, or relaxation, Castle Hill places you in the heart of it all.

Standard check-in time is 3:00 PM and check-out is no later than 10:00 AM. £15 per hour for late check-out or early check in options, subject to availability. Maximum 12pm.



Nestled in the heart of Haltwhistle, Castle Hill offers a cozy and comfortable stay for up to four guests. This charming 2-bedroom home features two spacious double bed in each bedroom, a well-equipped kitchen with a dining area and a separate living room perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.

The bathroom includes both a bath and a shower for your convenience. With free Wi-Fi and parking, Castle Hill is ideal for a relaxing getaway near Hadrian’s Wall and Northumberland’s stunning landscapes.

By Car:
From Newcastle upon Tyne (Approx. 45 miles, 1-hour drive)
Take the A69 west towards Hexham and Carlisle.
Continue on the A69 until you reach Haltwhistle.
Take the exit into Haltwhistle town centre.
Follow signs for Castle Hill, and you will find Castle Hill at 1 Castle Hill.
From Carlisle (Approx. 23 miles, 35-minute drive)
Take the A69 east towards Newcastle.
Exit towards Haltwhistle town centre.
Follow local roads to Castle Hill.

By Train:
Haltwhistle Railway Station is on the Tyne Valley Line, connecting Newcastle and Carlisle.
Direct trains run regularly from Newcastle, Carlisle, and Hexham.
Once at Haltwhistle Station, it's a 10-minute walk or a short taxi ride to Castle Hill.

By Bus:
Haltwhistle is served by Go North East and Stagecoach bus services.
Regular buses run between Newcastle, Hexham, and Carlisle, stopping at Haltwhistle town centre.
From the town centre bus stop, Castle Hill is just a short walk away.


- NO SMOKING INSIDE: We kindly request that smoking be avoided inside the premises. Any indication of smoking will incur a fee of £300 for odor removal, duct cleaning, and furniture cleaning. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

- We do require a separate short term rental agreement to be signed directly with us and a pre-arrival form filled prior to your stay.

عناصر لم تنل الإعجاب: النظافة
The property is compact, looks smart and is well equipped. Unfortunately, there was a very strong and persistent smell of damp, especially downstairs, which really marred the stay. Parking is available a few minutes walk away, the local village has everything you’d need and it’s a good spot to explore the area from.
