Closer still is St Anthony-in-Meneage where motor boats and kayaks can be hired. The River Helford runs through this unspoilt area of south Cornwall, part of the stunning, west facing Lizard peninsula, the UK’s most southerly point. A small ferry service runs from the banks of the river to the famous inn on the opposite side, with small sheltered sandy beaches, woodland and miles of glorious walks.
