Great house, but…

The house was perfect for a couple families and in a great location. It came with vast majority of what the house needs with the exception of soap, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, and paper towels

Disappointing Stay in TopSail

The pictures of the place were amazing, and I have to say we thought the decor was great. The TVs were large and it had an amazing sound bar. HOWEVER, when we arrive the place was filthy - there was hair all over the carpets, the kitchen/dining floors were sticky, and the counters was disgusting. We spent the first part of our stay cleaning. We contacted the Property Mgr. and they said someone from cleaning would contact me, but no on got back to us. Then we discovered there was a huge roach issue. We basically slept w/ the lights on to keep them at bay.

Home is in need of repair.

I would like to start off by saying the location of this property is amazing, so easy to get onto the beach with spectacular views. The property itself is nice, it has just not been maintained well. When we arrived the temperature in the house was above 80 degrees. We of course adjusted the thermostat to get the temp to lower (we had an elderly person on oxygen, the higher temps are not good for their health). Woke up the next morning after a long hot night to the temp lowering 1 degree to 79 degrees. It was cooler outside. This is when the calls to maintenance started (Sunday Am). Every call was met with a different person wanting the story all over again with a response that we will get you on a list for maintenance. On day 3 of no A/C in July I started calling every hour still getting the run around to finally demanding I speak with someone who could help me, A "supervisor". Around 9:30pm on day 3 they brought in 2 small window units, since it turns out the AC unit was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. The window units helped some but it was still pretty hot in there. The very next day the elevator in the home got stuck (thankfully with noone on it) Again with an elderly person that was one of the reasons we chose this property since this would help them manage the stairs. This also took more than 24hrs and multiple phone calls to get fixed. On that same night I was taking a shower and the shower head completely fell off of the wall. There was a spout left on the wall so it was kind of like taking a shower with a water hose. Of course we called maintenance again - they never showed up and I was not in the mood to beg them to fix it. There was still water just real strong. Overall the property was not kept very clean, there was black mold in all the showers and gunk around the sinks. There were noticeable hairs (not our blonde) all over the bathroom floors and dirty rings in the toilets. The faucet at the kitchen sink had a leak and if you hit it just right you would get a shocking spray to the face. Same for the water hose outside, it had a leak that would spray you all over if you weren't careful. We will not be returning to this property.

Amazing Location and View

My mom, sister, best friend and her sister stayed here just last week and it was better than advertised. The place was clean, the kitchen was amazing and well equipped with plenty of skillets, utensils and glass ware. The place exceeded our expectations and the elevator made getting luggage, groceries and some of us with bad knees up and down wonderfully. The location was great. Close enough to restaurants, shopping and the beach. We all would love to stay here again in the future.

Awesome beach week

Just home from an amazing week at the beach. The location is superb with fabulous views! The home is large and accommodating and very homey. The kitchen is well stocked for meals in. Please if you consider selling in the near future, contact us. Would love to buy your unit!

Great place loved the location very nice house

My family of 6 + the 2 grandmothers had a great time the house was very nice no complaints location to beach was great exespely having young children i don't have anything negative to say maybe a better working vacuum and the 2 bushes could be trimed between the walk way to the beach ... I give my experience a 10 plus would stay again and would recommend

Great location dirty house

We showed up and the house was not very clean. Hair on the beds. Comforters needed washed. Carpets not vacuumed. Called and let the management company know that we had some issues. The manager told me the unit failed inspection? I am still not sure why they let us in if it failed. Sent 2 people over to clean. They had some products and we showed them what needed cleaned. We went for a walk on the beach while they cleaned. Came back and nobody was there cleaning. They left 3 spray bottles and didn't touch anything. Bailey stopped with new bedding and actually gave us new new sheets. She said everyone went home. The new sheets where great but we had to wash 2 comforters before we could even make the beds. Missing tv controllers so we had to share. Ants in the kitchen. Some little things that where not that big of a deal until you add it all together. We also started wiping bathrooms down and cleaned about an hour. Never heard another word from anyone the whole week. Zero follow-up. The place was located perfectly for us. We rented a golf cart so the kids could go into town whenever they liked. The main hub was about a 1 1/2 miles away. The layout and location are very good. If you can get it cleaned before you show up rent it.

Excellent location overlooking the beach

Great View

Property was located in a wonderful spot and had a great view of the ocean and beach. It was wonderful to fall asleep to the sound of the waves. The property itself is very roomy, in good condition and is well equipped. My family and I had a wonderful time and can't wait to come back next year.

Beautiful ocean view

This was the perfect condo for our family. You are in an end unit making beach access just steps away. Perfect for the numerous trips back and forth between the condo, pool, and beach with the kids in tow. The condo was decorated nicely and had great supplies to cook meals with. We can definitely see overselves renting this unit again.

Overall Wonderful Trip

When I rent a home, I search for hours. I look at every picture and read every review. The Cons: As soon as we walked in, it smelled like dog, really bad. It had also rained so that probably didn't help with the smell . This property is a no pet property. My daughter is allergic and this is one of the things that I look for. Not only did it smell, she sat on the sofa and immediately got itchy and had dog hair all over her. We ran our hand across the carpeting on the stairs and got a handful of dog hair. We ended up calling and the cleaning service came out. This still did not work, we went out and bought some powder for the carpet and that helped some. (We were told by another owner in the complex, that this was purchased recently and the previous owners had a dog. I also think the renters before us brought a dog because I found a dog toy in the sofa.) The master on the second floor had a very moldy shower, which the cleaning people cleaned but we still cleaned after they left. The holes in the shower head were clogged with mold. All in all the cleanliness wasn't great, it. The kitchen was a good size, but the pots and pans were not adequate for cooking for a large number of people. They did have plenty of dishes. I called about sheets and towels and was told that they were not supplied. However, when we got there, there were both. This is a con only because we lugged linens from all over the U.S. and didn't have to. I've noticed that property management companies are now using VRBO and the quality of the rentals (there isn't the pride of ownership) is not as great as when it is actually run by the owner. I've had this happen twice now. However, the management company did respond quickly with problems. They sent someone quickly to do a reclean and there was a leak from the second floor bathroom that was handled quickly as well. There should also be a rug at the bottom of the stairs to collect the dirt and sand from the beach. When there are younger children, you can't be there every time they come in to clean their feet. If it were my rental, I think I would do away with the carpet all together. The Pros: The location could not be more perfect. It's second row back but there's an access directly in front, so you have perfect ocean views and quick access to the beach. Nicely decorated. For this trip we had a large number of people in which the beds/seating accommodated perfectly.
