Despite pouring rain, we had a lovely overnight stay, help with towels for our dogs, drying room for coats. Really frie dly fantastic views and location.
Room was homely with beautiful views, had a kettle, a selection of teas and coffees and delicious home made flapjacks. Breakfast was delicious and very entertaining with red squirrels popping in to feed and a whole variety of birds diving around. Property even has a drying room, which was very handy after a wet walk.
It was absolutely amazing to stay at forest how the host was marvellous and very helpful, the gardens were so amazing and spectacular with the birds and red squirrels, food excellent room very comfortable
The location was lovely and peaceful. My room overlooked the garden where the many and varied birds and red squirrels came to feed. The room itself was exceptionally clean and nicely decorated, with a decent sized en suite bathroom. Very comfortable. Corrine provided a kind welcome and delicious breakfasts, served in a spacious and clean conservatory.
The location itself is within easy travelling distance of plenty of interesting places and things to do and see and not so nearly as overpopulated as the central Lakes area, so perfect for people requiring a bit more peace and solitude. I would definitely try to book there again if I revisited this part of the Lakes in the future. Many thanks to Corrine et al for a lovely ( if short!) stay.
Stayed here for two nights with my friend while hiking in the area. Friendly and lovely place. The hosts were so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was amazing, room was clean and comfortable with an amazing view over the garden and mountains beyond.
Spent our evenings watching the red squirrels, birds, deer and badgers out of the bedroom window.
Perfect place to use as a base or to spend time in the gardens.
We had the addition of a packed lunch made for us which was lovely, the flapjacks are amazing by the way!
Great location, friendly hosts, great service, parking, wifi, breakfast, comfy bed, clean bathroom and amazing views and wildlife.
Will definitely be retunring next time we visit the area. 10/10!! Cant fault it in any way
Amazing find. A quaint hotel in an amazing location. Great service. The bird life & Red Squirrels visible from my bedroom window was incredible. A must for wildlife watchers. Walkers would love it as well as there’s literally a path in to the hills at the gate. Do the steam railway trip. You can hear the trains as the pass 5 minutes walk across the valley. Great hosts, breakfasts were perfect. I’ll be back.
Gorgeous Guest House with Red Squirrels included..
Great Guest house with only a few other guests. Set in some of the most amazing scenary you will ever see. there are Red Squirrels and hundreds of birds no more than a few feet from the dining room . Very clean and tidy rooms .
Kate looked after us like we were family. Lending us a phone when our car broke down and generaly making sure our short stay was memorable..
Way too far off the main road with a pot holed drive and limited parking. Nobody present upon the room was tiny , clean but completely inappropriate for those blessed with a love for life. arrival or indeed departure.
The location of the house is a perfect balance of peace and quiet, with stunning views and abundant wildlife garden, and yet 10 minutes walk from a village shop and 2 pubs. Excellent hospitality and delicious breakfast. Im already planning my next visit.
A hidden gem, a nature lovers paradise, I didn't want to leave! Beautiful views from the windows. Breakfast conservatory so close to the birds and squirrels you feel you could touch them.
Plenty of paths to explore through the grounds and lots of walks nearby.
Nothing too much trouble, dogs welcome, fresh milk provided; a very generous well cooked breakfast, everything clean and well cared for.
Plenty of information given.
You can tell I was impressed!
Beautiful stay and five star service by Mother and Daughter, we could not fault this residence at all plus the breakfast is truly lovely . Would highly recommend to any person looking for a very peaceful stay with stunning surroundings. From Howard and Nicole.
Lovely quiet location, spotless accommodation, great breakfast and friendly hosts. The perfect spot for walkers and those who like to see red squirrels and birds at close range.
