A really well appointed and comfortable property in a great location for exploring the Peak District. This was our second visit and I would really recommend it.
Quiet location but easy walking/cycling distance to beautiful countryside. House was comfortable (including the beds) and had the basics that you like for a stay.
Bradwell is a great location for visiting the Peak District: it's close to many of the popular hikes, but it doesn't feel overrun with other tourists. The house was very well set up and comfortable.
Really enjoyed our stay at 1 Brook House.
Very comfortable cottage, charming decor and plenty of room.
It was the ideal base for our day walks in the Peak District.
The cottage was absolutely lovely, and we would thoroughly recommend. It is situated in a beautiful little village which was ideally located to explore the area. Three pubs within the village and others just a few minutes away in the car. We had a fabulous stay in this wonderful dog friendly cottage and wouldn’t hesitate to return.
The cottage was beautiful with great attention to detail and everything felt of quality. Its location in Bradwell is perfect for either relaxing in the village or as a base for walking. The village itself has everything you need and the locals were very welcoming. Definitely going to book again for next year.
A beautiful cosy cottage that was even better than we could have imagined.
A great location in the heart of the village with all local amenities within close proximity, all only a short walk away, three pubs, the Co-Op, Cafe plus Fish and Chips all on your doorstep, as well as the Bus stop to get into Castleton, that is a ten minute journey. Couldn’t recommend it more, we can’t wait to go again! If you book we hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
Nice welcoming cottage with Christmas tree lit as we arrived which was so appreciated. Felt at home straight away. Very comfortable, good local shops. Spotlessly clean , good quality linens, fixtures, fittings, decor. Felt like a home from home. Would definitely revisit and recommend. Thoroughly enjoyable.ff.fixtures and fittings, linens
We absolutely enjoyed our time here. This beautiful cottage is well equipped and the location is ideal. A beautiful village to enjoy walking around and a few pubs and a local grocery store all within walking distance. Castleton, High Peak, Bakewell, Chatsworth House are definitely places to visit. The owner was very accessible for any questions we had and very friendly. We highly recommend this property. You will not be disappointed.
Beautiful cottage. Spotless and everything you need. Right in the heart of the village. Handy Co-op with in couple of minutes walk that was well stocked.
Had a drink in the White Hart and Shoulder of
Had a pizza from the shop opposite the Coop that was reasonably priced and tasty.
Easy to find, reserved parking and a great location in the heart of the village, close to what shops there are and two pubs.
Amenities in the cottage are very good and well maintained. Kitchen has all the utensils you will require although lacking cleaning products. The lounge is cosy as are the bedrooms. Bathrooms are modern. The courtyard garden is well maintained bbq & outdoor dining table will cater for al fresco dining or just a quiet drink in the afternoon sun. Our rescue dog settled in very quickly and although he didn't use the dog bed, rug and biscuits provided; its a lovely touch for any four legged patrons.
Can recommend the dog friendly Shoulder of Mutton - three minute stroll - good selection of beers and food. Co-op is also well stocked and opens until 22:00 daily.
We really enjoyed our stay in Bradwell. The house is exactly as it appears online, very quaint. Upon arrival we only found one roll of toilet paper in a house with two bathrooms and none of the coffee that was supposed to be supplied. The owner offered to compensate us for the supplies we had to buy but we didn't bother with that. Thankfully the nearby co-op grocery store is well stocked and we were able to find what we needed. The house is clean, with the exception of cobwebs in quite a few places and the beds were comfortable. The TV was a bit confusing at first until we realized the SKY TV package was on another Hdmi input and not the one that the TV defaults to when it's turned on. And this may be a North American thing but we couldn't figure out how to have a shower without the water being way too hot. Despite these observations I can recommend Brookhouse as a great way to experience English country life and to be near a number of the area's attractions.
Perfect cottage for our stay. Warm and comfortable. They have thought of everything. We really appreciated the dog bed, blanket and towel. It was a very easy place to stay and perfect for exploring the local area. We hope to return.
