"The staff was friendly and very willing to help with any needs and/or advice. There was always lemon line water in the lobby and delicious chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon. The hotel was clean. The pool was clean and warm. I had dinner at the restaurant, and it was delicious. The shower had great water pressure, unlike some hotels I’ve been to. They have plenty of parking, although maybe a little tight. They offer a free shuttle service to drive their customers to their destination. I would definitely recommend this hotel."

"I did not have time to use the pool or workout room but I did look in at them and they looked nice and clean. I love the bathroom layout with the big long shelf to be able to set things out on."

"Our stay at the Cove was excellent. We booked one of the theme rooms (the haunted circus) and it did not disappoint. Super fun spooky ambience, and a very spacious room for multiple night stays to have as a home base. We did not get a chance to utilize but they have cozy fire pits, a common lounge/ game room and a newly added bar area beside the fire pit patio including some lawn games as well. Room was clean and comfy. Check in was smooth and easy. A little too far for our liking to walk to downtown of Salem from so we ubered each time but quick and convenient getting an uber to and from and for some walking distance still possible if desired."

"Oh my goodness, I just do not think I can say enough great things about this place and the hosts Carol and Dan. This is hands down the cutest and best rental that we have stayed. Carol has such an attention to detail with her set up, that it just instantly charmed the pants right off us. The yard reminded us of the Secret Garden entryway it was sooo adorable. Carol already had dog friendly restaurant recommendations for us upon arrival and had some treats not only for us but she thought of our furbaby too. Her husband Dan (while on his way walking to the gym) took the time to walk us down to Essex street and provided us with some history lessons as well along the way (Carol you really should rent him out as a guide lol) then we ran into him a few days later and he guided us to the Salem Ferry (such a great guy). From the moment we pulled up Carol was warm and friendly and there for anything we needed. We truly enjoyed all of their recommendations and accommodations. To top it off Carol remembered me mentioning we would be there on our wedding anniversary and she surprised us on the anniversary day with a special treat. I mean come on… that was just to dang thoughtful. This place is sooo close to everything that we only used our vehicle when he had a day trip further outside of Salem. We have already let Carol know that we will be back, do not pass up the opportunity to stay at this beautiful and charming getaway. Thank you again Carol and Dan for your hospitality!"

"Very old, historic building that takes you back into history. A perfect combination of old with modern convenience. Our room had a musty smell that may just be what it is with an old building. Never saw a staff member, so I could not comment on the staff. Breakfast extremely disappointing. Keurig coffee, Sam’s Club granola bars, apples and oranges, bread, English muffins and raisin bread. I recommend this property for the history, the experience of staying in such an old house and for the location."

"Excellent! Super easy access and check-in/check-out process and quick communication. Buildings and rooms are impeccable and gorgeously decorated in historic fashion. Comfy king bed in the Rajah room, beautiful clawfoot tub or a separate shower, and the main house was amazing as well. Great continental breakfast options"
