Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Amenities
Property is beautiful, however it's little inconvenient as it's very remote, but this can be a good thing too, depend on your liking. we liked it.
Parking can be challenging though, as the carport is small and if you do have big luggage's then you want to park at the bottom but unless you have a offroad vehicle, it is not advised.
Other than that, is clean and cosey.
Fireplace is not really effective and can be really cold in winter, and shower water is on the small side,.
I would imagine it be beautiful in the summer,.
This property needs some repairs and servicing to charge what they are charging , oven knobs broken , wood fire fan broken . Fold out bed very uncomfortable and no electric blanket on this one either so very cold child 😠 . The fire was only real source of heat in a snowy mountains cottage in winter. Arrived late no lights lefts on or heating . Wood left for the fire was wet and owners Difficult to contact due to phone reception and they run a no contact check in . I like rustic but this is rustic at a luxury price . The location is beautiful and the cabin is cute but definitely not customer orientated. This could be an amazing stay with a few extra touches which this price tag indicates would be on offer or reduce the cost to match the service provided .
only let down by the terrible access road, got bogged on dirt road if it had snowed no hope of getting out.needs to by pass horse stables.other wise great place!
My girl and I made a two night escape to the Snowy Wilderness, we rented the cottage from Snow Wilderness.
Excellent cottage, separate from the other provided accomodation, via a different access road.
Good instructions on how to get to our cottage.
Quaint, secluded, great detail build, double glazed, rammed earth and local granite construction.
We went for a 2 hour horse ride the next day, followed by an excursion down the Barry Way to the Snowy River.
Loved the experience, was just what we needed, beautiful, secluded and comfortable
Snowy Wildness was unbelievable. It was the most peaceful secluded place we have ever stayed at. We stayed in the cottage which was way away from the homestead and extremely private. The only thing you see is the beautiful bush and the wonderful local animals that drop in. We saw brumbies and wallabies and baby dear.
The cottage is stunning. The bed is fabulous and cute and the stone work walls make this cottage breathtaking. It's well equiped for your stay except no wifi. But this can be used up at the homestead if needed. Half hour away from Jindabyne for shops and restaurants. If you are after a get away from everything quiet secluded place then this is it.
Very pleasant well appointed free standing cabin style houses set nicely in the landscape of a secluded property.
Make sure you get instructions before you arrive in the area. We found our way around eventually, but needed to work it out ourselves. We should have called prior to leaving Jindy, but didn't get around to it.
Pleasantly surprised by the comfort standard upon arrival.
The Homestead is way more rustic than it appears. The floors are bare slab, which is hard and cold, there are large chunks missing out of the floor, there are some strategically placed mats around to cover those up. There is exposed wiring, the shower is not sealed and the water pours under the glass doors, all over the floor, the water is muddy making the bath extremely unappealing. There are oil heaters which are not particularly safe for a commercial use. You need to take your own drinking water. There also no tempering devices on the hot water and it comes out scalding. It really needs to be professionally finished.
The cottage itself was gorgeous, however, the access from the road was poorly sign posted and easily missed. There was no lighting from the carport to the cottage which I felt was rather dangerous. Also there were no window furnishings which was great for the view but impractical for such a cold region. You had to climb up and crawl into bed- could be difficult for some people. Overall a great place with a few negatives.
