"I liked having the resturant attached. The food was very good. The bed and bedding was comfortable. However there was a lot of noise above our room the sounded like construction. It did seem to cease around 10:00pm"

"Beautiful home/cabin with a fabulous ocean view, upstairs and downstairs! Kitchen is upstairs with living room,bedroom, bath. Fully equipped. Downstairs has 2 bedrooms bath/shower. Shampoo, soap,plenty of towels!.Everything was perfect. Even kitties nearby to say hello! My favorite place. Looks new to me! Amazing View!! Jon was great and so was Dieane!"

"This is a fabulous place to stay at the start or end of your cape breton adventure! The cabins had everything you could need - the king bed and couch were really comfortable! the owner and Rose (housekeeping) couldn't have been kinder. thank you!"

"I love how this motel is located at the mouth of Cape Breton and right by the ocean. Unfortunately it's also beside a railway track. If like me, you can sleep through the train noise throughout the night, it's actually a nice comfortable place to stay. I also appreciate that we were provided plenty of toiletries."

"Quiet rural location, clean and updated. Pet friendly. Our unit was on the first floor - metal staircase to reach unit. Fully functional, equipped kitchenette (no oven). We would stay again."

"Very quiet there. Free laundry was very helpful. The staff went out of their way to help out. We had hoped the dining room would be open. The heater in our room needs maintenance. It was very noisy. But all in all a very good place. We’d definitely recommend Bras D’Or Laje Inn."

"This Cape Breton "cottage" has everything you could hope for. Quiet, daily sightings of deer and red fox and eagles and other birds. The "magical" nature walk to Lake Bras d'Or added joy and whimsy and time for reflection. The water is crystal clear, and the air is so clean and fresh. The "little house" is homey, very clean, and has everything you need to cooks some meals, and enjoy a mug of coffee or tea. I brought oatcakes, but Cape Breton has no shortage of excellent bakeries (Aucoins and Cedar House are top of the list!). We did not even reach the Causeway til my husband and I wanted to U-turn and stay longer. We will recommend to friends we know who will visit Cape Breton, and we hope to be back someday too. Thank you Sandy and John for everything!"
