"Nice large king bed. Staff was helpful, especially the shuttle driver. Nice restaurant for dinner with great music!"

"We arrived at the hotel about 6 pm. The doors were locked and we had to call the hotel to learn that we should have received a communication from someone about the codes needed to enter the premises and room. When I reserved the room, I was never given any indication that this would be a "self-serve" check in process with no human intervention. The room was comfortable, clean and lovely. But we were disappointed in the television. No network or local stations, just the low-cost streaming options. Next time we will spend the extra $20 to stay at a name brand hotel like we usually do so that we can enjoy the level of service that we are accustomed to. "

"Very Friendly place, rooms are kept in very good shape, Paul and his staff are great hosts. breakfast both days we were there was most excellent. We celebrated our anniversary there for the weekend and we were surprised with a happy anniversary cake when we returned to our room Saturday evening. We are returning customers of the property as we were married on the property in 2008 and try to celebrate our anniversary at the Mansion. it is a 10 out of 10 place to stay."

"Brian and David are the best friendliest host , they made us feel at home and loved their hospitality. They have maintained this property beautifully till the last corner of the home. We loved our room from hand painted walls to the canopy bed, with a view - brought out the southern charm of the property. The breakfast in a pretty English setup was my favorite. Thank you for serving us with delicious breakfast . We would love to revisit the next time we are in Galena!! "

"The 1842 Bavarian Brew House in Galena was the perfect place for a memorable family celebration. My two sisters, my niece, my mom, and I stayed there to celebrate my mom’s 70th birthday, and the house made the whole weekend feel special.The location was fantastic—close enough to downtown Galena that getting into town was quick and easy, but still quiet enough to relax and enjoy time together. The home itself has clearly been beautifully restored. Everything felt thoughtfully redone while still keeping the charm of an older historic building.One of the highlights was the large dining room. My sister organized a painting activity for us on the first night and we had plenty of space to spread out and chat while we did our paintings.The basement was another standout feature. It’s such a unique space, with darts and shuffleboard that kept us entertained late into the night. My sisters and I stayed up laughing and playing games, which ended up being some of the best moments of the trip.Overall, the house struck a great balance between historic character and modern comfort. It gave us plenty of room to celebrate, relax, and spend real time together. I would absolutely recommend the 1842 Bavarian Brew House for a group trip to Galena, especially for families or friends looking for a place with personality and space to gather"
