Clarion Pointe Marshall

"Of the three "budget" hotels I've stayed at in Marshall, the Clarion was significantly better in most respects. First, the staff was so polite, kind, and solicitous that I thought I was back in Mississippi, not Texas. Second, in their "restaurant" (it's really a lounge area in which they serve food), I had the best calamari I've ever had. It had slices of pickled banana pepper and both were crispy and crunchy without any greasiness at all. The burger was cooked as requested and the onion rings were thick, meaty, and not greasy at all. Breakfast was several notches above other similar hotels - the scrambled eggs appeared to be real. The few critiques probably owe as much to the age of the building as anything else. The bathroom door wouldn't close, and the bathroom faucet was noisy. The TV lost its internet connection, but that's kind of a first world problem as I had my laptop on which to watch the content I wanted to see. But, the room was very clean and nicely appointed."

"These was a quite beautiful place, Staff was amazing Owner was great. Loved that they loved sharing stories of Jefferson. The room was just beautiful and so comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer. Oh and the breakfast was so good."
