Log Home in a Peaceful Wood in Jim Thorpe

Enjoy this clean, private, modern log home on 11 wooded acres, @3 miles from the center of the town of Jim Thorpe, the final resting place of James Francis Thorpe, perhaps the greatest athlete of the 20th century. The Cabin on Dew Drop Drive comfortably sleeps up to 8 people, but with enough space both inside and out so everyone can find the privacy they desire! Relax on the leather couches by the remote-controlled gas fireplace, or lounge on the sunny front porch while keeping an eye out for hummingbirds, turkeys, deer and the occasional fox or bear. Enjoy s'mores around the fire pit, and hike the woods in season to forage for wild huckleberries and blueberries. Send the kids out to play in the "tree house" (a mere 6 feet off the ground), or to ride the zip-line (weight limit 125lbs.).

You'll stay just a couple miles away from the Jim Thorpe Memorial, and you'll have easy access to the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway, white water rafting on the Lehigh River, bicycling and hiking in Glen Onoko State Park, swimming and fishing in nearby Mauch Chunk and Beltzville Lakes, ski resorts (Jack Frost/Big Boulder, Blue Mountain and Camelback), historic sites, art galleries, concert venues, wineries, restaurants, bars and shopping. And at the end of the day, retire to the Dew Drop Inn, our Irish-style pub downstairs!

All linens and towels are provided (bring your favorite pillow if you'd like), and you'll have access to plenty of puzzles, toys, art supplies, card and board games, a diverse selection of movies on DVD, and even a bit of exercise equipment. The kitchen and laundry room are fully equipped for your use, and WiFi is free.

  • This is one of my favorite hiking trails! It consists of 3 big waterfalls as you ascend to the top. Be cautious though you need real hiking boots to hike the trail. It’s extremely slippery because of the waterfalls and we went on a day where it rained so it was even worse. Most people make their way up the side of the waterfalls, which involves a lot of climbing on rocks and using your hands. It gets very crowded so we went up the "flatter" trail most people use to go down, which made for a really good work out, and started from the top waterfall and made our way down. This is not a kid friendly place. The trail is dangerous and difficult. There were warning signs everywhere saying to wear the correct shoes and that people have died here, but there were so many people there with their small children who were having lots of trouble climbing and so many people with flip flops. Also no one here had any hiking etiquette about letting others pass. Regardless, this is one of my favorite trails.

Girls trip

Seven women in Jim Thorpe for a girls trip for a 40th birthday. The house was perfect! Secluded with everything you would need to stay in, but close enough to all the town of Jim Thorpe has to offer. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect Cabin Oasis for Families With Kids

This cabin is the perfect stay for a family looking for a cabin setting with access to amenities. The cabin has everything you could possibly need for all ages and is spotlessly clean! We were a group ranging from 3 years old to 45. Kids were thrilled with the toys, tree house, zip line, fire pit and the bunk room. Adults had everything needed to make meals, relax, and have fun too! Playing darts in the pub was an added bonus. The cabin is also just minutes from downtown Jim Thorpe. We will be back and you should book it!

Great weekend

Spent a long weekend here with my husband an y best friend and her husband, such a great weekend. Close enough to town that it didn’t feel like forever to get there but far enough out to enjoy the cabin in the woods feeling. Great size for us and would have had room for the kids too if they came with. Very clear. And host sent email few days before with information on cabin and the local area. Checking in and getting in cabin was super easy. Will book again

Simply magnificent!

This home is unique and flawless! Pictures and descriptions cannot do it justice. Every inch was spotlessly clean, it was incredibly well organized, and beautifully and creatively decorated. The outdoor spaces are very interesting to explore and peaceful as can be. Every room is comfortable and there is plenty of space in the kitchen. The pub is just the coolest! The owners clearly love their home, and you will love it, too.

Fantastic Stay!

So much to say about this property! It is absolutely beautiful and incredibly clean. The house is spacious, cozy and quaintly decorated. You can tell the hosts take a lot of pride in the property and they thought of a lot of little details to make the stay comfortable. The were quick with communication and left detailed yet simple instructions for the stay. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The downstairs was so fun, like a night out without having to leave the home. We would absolutely love to stay again!

Dont look at any other cabin near Jim Thorpe.....This is the one!!!!

I cannot say enough about this property. Wayne was such a great host and thought of every minor detail to make our stay amazing. We were celebrating a friends 50th birthday and it was everything I wanted it to be. Check in was simple, and the owner was in contact with us to show us a picture of a bear that just came through the property the morning of our stay. It was so peaceful with one a handful of vehicle coming down the road. We saw deer and turkey and took a hike through the property. The bar was well stocked! Thank you so much for your hospitality!! We will be back soon!

Hidden Gem on Quiet Side of Jim Thorpe

Wayne is amazing and very responsive. The property was very clean and well kept. The family put a lot of time and effort into decorating this property and keeping it up very well. We were here second week of November 2023 and it was great. Leaves were still changing and beautiful colors to be seen. This home is wonderful and it was great to witness so many other people being kind and decent towards the decorations and other honorary in kind items in the home. We will be going back again! Also if you are vegan, vegetarian or aware of the products you use (toxins bleh) this home is well supplied with Dr.Bonners and a lot of the items we like to use to keep the harsh chemicals of the world out of our bodies. A small item that was noticed and greatly appreciated.

The home was great. The location, out of the busy downtown, was wonderful and quiet. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. We had fun playing darts and quoits, sitting on the porch and by the fire. Really a fantastic place.

Wonderfully Relaxing

We loved every moment of our stay. Walking the trail; watching wildlife, relaxing at the basement bar; sightseeing in Jim Thorpe. We had a wonderful time and definitely plan to return!
