Location, Location, Location! This Hawaii-chic, quiet condo is located in the heart of downtown Kailua Kona. Across the street is a beautiful beach, famous for watching the sunset. Walk to island shops, Restaurants, Live Entertainment, Activities, a Trolley station, farmers’ market.

This is a cozy second-story room that has a comfy King-size bed, it is good for up to 2 people. AC, a smart TV, free Wi-Fi, and a few games to have fun. Beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels & snorkeling masks are provided for you to use.

The fully equipped kitchenette includes a full-size fridge, microwave, induction burners, toaster, coffee maker, and more.

Enjoy your morning coffee or a pre-dinner cocktail on the lanai (balcony) overlooking the pool and garden.

This quiet and peaceful complex has beautiful tropical gardens with banana trees, exotic flowers, and green lawns surround. You will love to enjoy the Pool, Jacuzzi, BBQ area, and Old Hawaiian charm.

You DO NOT need a car when you stay in this very convenient location. If you have a car, The free parking lot is available first come with a permit that you get from font-desk when you check in, If this lot is filled up, free overflow is also available on the street. Parking is limited and not guaranteed.

Coin/app-operated laundry available on site.

Valid ID required for check-in at Front Desk upon arrival.

We provide complimentary starter essentials including paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, laundry detergent, hand soap, and trash bags. We also have air mattress, pack and play, and high chair available for rent.

Property was close to shopping venues.Eateries were limited. Parking was difficult. A car is necessary if you want to visit other areas along the Kona Coast it is not walkable. Parking stalls were tight. Handicap parking was non-existent. There are two spots however they are occupied by the residents that live there. No handicap parking for visitors/renters. Very disappointed with lack of access, I don't thinking the property conforms to ADA standards. Brought that issue up with 1st Island Realty. Didn't receive any return call or response. Also sent notice that the smoke detector was chirping, she replied that it was frogs. Smoke detector chirped all night. Front desk staff just removed the detector. Again no response from 1st Island Realty. Overall location is central. but lack of parking and distance to shopping like KTA or Sac and Save are 18-20 min walks. Walmart 26 min walk is a concern. Lack of responses from 1st Island Realty, the property owner is also disappointing.

When I got into the room I noticed cockroaches both large and small. It’s ridiculous that Expedia won’t allow me to tell the Truth. Small cockroaches were in the bathroom and larger cockroaches were present in the little kitchen sink and on the floor around the bed. I let the owner of the unit see this so it’s not a surprise to the gentleman that owns it. I purchased Raid ant and roach spray and used it daily. The freezer was broken the first 3 days and on the third night around 8pm the owner had a new refrigerator installed which took care of that problem

Unit 212 is just as deacribed

This studio is clean and updated. Pictures and descriptions are very accurate. No surprises !The one thing I will mention is that the area of Alii Drive is a bit shabby and not vibrant like it once was. There is a lot of renovation underway so high hopes for the future

Leider sehr laut

Leider war die Klimaanlage und der Kühlschrank so laut das man nicht schlafen konnte. Wir haben dann versucht mit offener Tür zu schlafen und Klimaanlage aus, aber da war der Straßenlärm zu laut.Es war so unerträglich das wir uns ein Hotelzimmer buchen mussten um wenigstens schlafen zu können.

Great location and accommodations

We loved the faced that the beach was across the street and we were centrally located and could walk to restaurants and shopping. The room had all the amenities to cool in our room and the balcony was great to enjoy our meals. The pool was nice as well

Wonderful place and location

Thank you for the wonderful experience at your unit! From arrival to departure, it was a great experience. We encountered an issue but it was resolved so quickly and seamlessly. We hope to return one day because this place and location and all it had to offer was exactly what we needed. Mahalo 🌺🌺

Bumpy start, smooth finish

It would be a five star review except for our arrival. We arrived after a long 7hour flight at 10:30pm at night to be told we did not have a room and that it would be impossible to check in without first island reality uploading us as guest in their computer system. They wouldn’t open until 8am the next morning. This apparently happened even though I had paid in full and had the receipts and an email telling me to check in at the front desk with my ID. After contemplating spending the night in our rental car and fruitlessly trying to see if another hotel had a room. (They didn’t) First island reality after hours called back around 1am and confirmed us as guest and we were given a door code. We were never offered any discount or compensation for this and the front desk and first island reality blamed each other for the problem. Double check to make sure they have you in their system. It sucks a lot to arrive jet lagged and be treated like a vagrant without a reservation.

Perfect location

Small but functional room with a comfortable bed. Great neighbourhood for walking with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Lots of charm, free on-site parking if you’re quick but also free street parking.

Kona Islander short stay

Great location, less than a minute walk to Ali'i Drive. Studio was basic, clean, and I had no issues and I liked the tiki torches scattered around the property in the evenings!

Excellent Location

The Islander is located close to many restaurants, coffee shops, shopping etc, Across the street is the ocean. Easy check in, and check out. Nice condo, clean and spacious. I stayed at the Islander 3 times this year, and will spending more time there. It’s very close to the University of Nations/YWAM, which was my original reason for choosing it.

Best location ever

Everything went very smooth. I came here to bring my daughter to the University Of Nations/YWAM. We have stayed here at the Islander before, and have another state coming up in November here in the same unit. Speaks volumes three stays here. We really love it.

Studio in the middle of everything

This studio located on Alii in Kona is clean,comfortable for a couple. It is nicely remodeled with plenty of storage. Beautiful garden view from spacious balcony with partial ocean view is a bonus. We enjoyed a pool in the garden and made a dinner on the barbeque. Sadly the hot tub was broken during our stay ,which we would be happy to use. There is only few parking spots there so parking can be a challenge there.

Best layout and storage.

We have stayed at the Kona Islander Inn for years. We have stayed in many different units. This one is one of the best ones we have stayed in. We like the layout and their was lots of storage.

Quaint and Comfortable

You can tell that the property is aged, but is clean and safe. The entire property could benefit from a facelift update. This was a perfect place for the solo trip I took for a continuing education seminar, but not a place that I would bring my entire family back to. Location is absolutely perfect and walking through the back gate of the property puts you on the street in the middle of everything and only steps away from the water.

Perfect central location!

Nicely renovated condo in ideal central location. We participated in Ironman and it was great to be close to the start/ finish and all events. The condo had everything we needed. We would defininitely choose to stay here again.
