Kempty Falls is a magnificent waterfall and recreation area set in the lap of a green valley. Access to the falls is via a short cable-car ride that travels down a forest-covered mountainside. As you move deep into the valley, take time to check out the colorful Tibetan-style homes which sit precariously on the cliffs. An alternative way to get here is to walk down a series of hillside steps.
The waterfall is about a 30-minute drive from Mussoorie’s town center and easily accessible via auto-rickshaws and taxis. Combine your visit with a walk around nearby Happy Valley, a Tibetan community nestled amid a green forest. Visit a Buddhist temple and look inside to see artisan workshops.
