Enjoyed our stay of the old charm and history the hotel offers. The little things like glass glasses and thickness and softness of towels indicates the quality of the original brand. Loved our stay. We had a lovely dinner outside very good and reasonably priced

Great location, beautiful view. Older property (no AC, baseboard heat in room), but well maintained and clean. Very nice layout, with plenty of seating with views. Very comfortable bed. We’d stay here again.

The hotel was in a fabulous location with amazing views poolside. I loved Kennebunkport, a must see. A pleasant walk to the amenities without being on top of the hustle & bustle. Suited us very well.

The staff and the breakfast buffet were incredible. The room we were in was cold and had paper thin walls and we heard the neighbors snore all night. We didn’t realize there was no tv in the room so plan accordingly.

The bed was comfortable. The fact that there are no televisions or refrigerators in the rooms in the main hotel was very disappointing for the cost of the room. The room was clean but old. I was there for a wedding and the buffet dinner was good.

The colony is a beautiful property and we enjoyed staying there. The food was excellent, but they refuse to have salt shakers, which we missed. We were told they won’t put rice in the shakers because people complain about it. Also, the lobster in the dining room was out of this world, but they don’t have lobster pics and didn’t seem to know what we were talking about. It’s a real old-fashioned property so if you want all the modern amenities, this is not for you as you won’t find accessible phone outlets in the rooms. All in all, we do love the old school feel that this property provides.

We really wanted to love this property, but encountered a few issues. First, there were no glasses, hand soap, or a tub stopper in our room. The front desk eventually sent up glasses and hand soap. But we had to call for them to say that they didnt have any tub stoppers, despite a tub being in the room. Our old room in the main building also had several not working outlets. The lack of a tv was listed, but the outlets not working were not. The overall location, property, views, fireplace, and breakfast were all great though. The main restaurant and bar did seem to be understaffed with a not so interesting menu so we did not bother. We would return but would probably pick the modern rooms.
